  • Patent number: 10937214
Abstract: An electronic device merges a plurality of maps, or area description files (ADFs), by representing relationships among ADFs in an undirected graph, with vertices representing maps and edges representing transformations between maps. As the electronic device generates new ADFs, the electronic device merges each new ADF to a stored collection of ADFs by adding each new ADF as a vertex and transformations between the new ADF and the collection of ADFs as edges in the undirected graph. In this way, the map merger can use the undirected graph to more accurately represent the relations between any two maps, allowing more efficient merger of new maps to a previously stored collection of maps, and allowing for the development of more flexible and efficient algorithms for manipulating the merged maps.

  • Patent number: 10935384
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for determining by means of numeric geoposition data that specify the current geoposition of a vehicle, and digital maps that contain area polygons, which in each case represent a geographic area on the earth, in the vehicle in which of the various areas the vehicle is currently located. According to the disclosure, a boundary precheck is initially performed, wherein candidate area polygons are selected, which are located in the vicinity of the current vehicle position. The selected candidate area polygons are subjected successively to a PIP test in order to determine whether the current vehicle position is located in one of the corresponding areas. An initial variable is generated, which specifies whether the vehicle is currently located in an area, and possibly in which of the areas the vehicle is currently located, and the initial variable is supplied to at least one driver assistance system of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10938626
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for managing gateway switchovers. An indication is received that a primary gateway will be switched to a backup gateway. In response to the indication, a response is made to a periodic health probe that a gateway switchover has been initiated. Incoming data traffic is forwarded from the primary gateway to the backup gateway. Subsequent to an elapsed time delay, a response is made to the periodic health probe that the primary gateway will no longer accept incoming data traffic. The time delay may be based at least in part on one or more of a time interval of the periodic poll and a time to effect the gateway switchover. The forwarding of the incoming data traffic from the primary gateway to the backup gateway is terminated.

  • Patent number: 10935651
Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described for radar angular ambiguity resolution. These techniques enable a target's angular position to be determined from a spatial response that has multiple amplitude peaks. Instead of solely considering which peak has a highest amplitude, the techniques for radar angular ambiguity resolution select a frequency sub-spectrum, or multiple frequency sub-spectrums, that emphasize amplitude or phase differences in the spatial response and analyze an irregular shape of the spatial response across a wide field of view to determine the target's angular position. In this way, each angular position of the target has a unique signature, which the radar system can determine and use to resolve the angular ambiguities. Using these techniques, the radar can have an antenna array element spacing that is greater than half a center wavelength of a reflected radar signal that is used to detect the target.

  • Patent number: 10936630
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for inferring topics from a file containing both audio and video, for example a multimodal or multimedia file, in order to facilitate video indexing. A set of entities is extracted from the file and linked to produce a graph, and reference information is also obtained for the set of entities. Entities may be drawn, for example, from Wikipedia categories, or other large ontological data sources. Analysis of the graph, using unsupervised learning, permits determining clusters in the graph. Extracting features from the clusters, possibly using supervised learning, provides for selection of topic identifiers. The topic identifiers are then used for indexing the file.

  • Patent number: 10936548
Abstract: Systems, components, devices, and methods for synchronizing files between a local file system and a server are provided. In an example, synchronization of individual files is paused by placing the individual files in a hold state. A non-limiting example method accesses a file stored on the local file system for synchronization with an associated file on the server and determines whether differences between the file and the associated file prevent synchronization. When determined that differences between the file and the associated file prevent synchronization, the method places the file in a hold state. The hold state pauses synchronization of the content in the file with the content of the associated file. In some examples, the method continues to synchronize topological changes to files that have been placed in the hold state and/or resumes synchronization after it is determined that the file is no longer different than the associated file.

  • Patent number: 10935555
Abstract: A method of determining suitability of a pregnant woman to be a candidate for induction of labor can include: obtaining a vaginal fluid sample from a pregnant woman; contacting the vaginal fluid sample with a PAMG-1 antibody that binds with PAMG-1; detecting whether the PAMG-1 antibody binds with PAMG-1 in the vaginal fluid sample to form a PAMG-1-antibody complex; and providing the determination of suitability for induction of labor to the pregnant woman. When the PAMG-1-antibody complex forms, the pregnant woman is determined to be in a condition that is not suitable for induction of labor because PAMG-1 is detected in the vaginal sample. When the PAMG-1-antibody complex does not form, the pregnant woman is determined to be in a condition that is suitable to be a candidate for induction of labor because the PAMG-1 is not detected in the vaginal sample.

  • Patent number: 10936787
Abstract: Systems and methods for document processing are discussed herein. In certain embodiments, novel document processor programs may allow for a knowledge worker to concentrate on the content of a document, rather than its formatting. Such programs may separately store layout and/or typesetting information from content, allowing for their combination after the content is created. Novel data structures and techniques are provided to permit the use of advanced version control, collaboration techniques and team/or workflows. User interfaces are also disclosed which dynamically adapt to a document type and/or a portion of a document being edited. Such features may significantly increase knowledge worker drafting efficiency.
