  • Patent number: 10661678
Abstract: A non-transitory machine readable medium having machine executable instructions can include a charge control application. The charge control application can determine, in response to detecting that an electric vehicle (EV) is electrically coupled to a vehicle-to-grid (V2G) interface, a degradation threshold state of charge (SoC) for a battery of the EV. The charge control application can also command the V2G interface to discharge the battery of the EV to a lower threshold SoC that is below the degradation threshold SoC. The charge control application can further command the V2G interface to charge the battery of the EV to an upper threshold SoC that is above the degradation threshold SoC at a return threshold time, wherein the return threshold time is a calculated amount of time prior to an expected return time of an operator of the EV.

  • Patent number: 10665354
Abstract: A nuclear reactor cooling system with passive cooling capabilities operable during a loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) without available electric power. The system includes a reactor vessel with nuclear fuel core located in a reactor well. An in-containment water storage tank is fluidly coupled to the reactor well and holds an inventory of cooling water. During a LOCA event, the tank floods the reactor well with water. Eventually, the water heated by decay heat from the reactor vaporizes producing steam. The steam flows to an in-containment heat exchanger and condenses. The condensate is returned to the reactor well in a closed flow loop system in which flow may circulate solely via gravity from changes in phase and density of the water. In one embodiment, the heat exchanger may be an array of heat dissipater ducts mounted on the wall of the inner containment vessel surrounded by a heat sink.

  • Patent number: 10666427
Abstract: A system includes a campaign management service to detect a campaign initiation request indicating a number of computerized devices to be updated for a campaign and store data corresponding to the computerized devices to be updated. The campaign management service can generate a bloom filter data structure comprising hash values based on the data for each of the computerized devices to be updated and transmit the bloom filter data structure to a network edge. The system can include the network edge that can use the bloom filter data structure from the campaign management service to determine whether a computerized device is to obtain a device update from the campaign management service. The network edge can retrieve the device update and modify the computerized device by transmitting the device update to the computerized device, which then installs it.

  • Patent number: 10661145
Abstract: A sports swing training device is attachable to a sports striking-object, such as a golf club, tennis racket, or baseball bat, and uses multiple motion sensors, including accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers, in conjunction with one or more microprocessors and device displays, to measure and display various swing metrics and to project flight patterns resulting from each swing. Swing data are displayed in graphic and/or indicia format, on the device's displays and are wirelessly transmitted to the displays of one or more external devices, such as smart phones or tablet computers. The projected flight patterns reveal flaws in the swing so as to promote corrective adjustments by the athlete.

  • Patent number: 10663259
Abstract: A firearm training system includes a firearm, a sensor, a data processor, and a display. The sensor measures and records the motion of the firearm before, during, and after the firearm is shot. In some embodiments, the sensor is located on the firearm. The sensor communicates with the data processor. In some instances this communication is conducted wirelessly. Data regarding the movement of the firearm is analyzed via the data processor and trends are determined. These trends are then correlated with shooting technique deficiencies which can be communicated to a user via the display. In some embodiments, the data processor and display are a single computing device, such as a tablet, smartphone, or laptop.

  • Patent number: 10664098
Abstract: A channel driver circuit includes a differential module and a driver module. In some examples, the channel driver circuit also includes a sigma-delta module. The differential module receives, via a single node of a load, a channel driving signal that is provided to the load at the single node (e.g., that is based on an electrical characteristic of the load) and generates an analog error signal that is based on the channel driving signal and a reference signal. The driver module is coupled to the differential module and generates the channel driving signal based on the analog error signal or a digital error signal corresponding to the analog error signal and transmits the channel driving signal via the single node to the load. The channel driver circuit simultaneously transmits the channel driving signal to the load at the single node and senses the channel driving signal at the single node.

  • Patent number: 10664295
Abstract: For each selected category of virtual machine, a cardinality of virtual machines of the category that are requested is recorded over time. For each category of virtual machine, a prediction algorithm is used to predict a cardinality of virtual machines for the selected category to be requested in the future, such that the prediction algorithm weighs under-prediction of the cardinality of virtual machines as costlier than over-prediction. For each category of virtual machine, a cardinality of virtual machines of the category of virtual machines are composed and booted with generic virtual machine artifacts such that the cardinality of virtual machines of the selected categories is the predicted cardinality of requested virtual machines for the selected category. The booted virtual machines are caused to enter a state in which the booted virtual machines are polling for a configuration with user-specific compute settings and user-specific networking settings.
