  • Patent number: 10449928
Abstract: A parking brake and anti-theft apparatus as described herein may include a brake assembly, a linear actuator and a plurality of locking pins. The brake assembly may include a rotor plate. The rotor plate may include a plurality of openings in and/or through the rotor plate. The plurality of locking pins may be extendable by the linear actuator. The pins may be aligned perpendicular to a face of the rotor plate such that, as at least one of the pins is disposed over one of the plurality of openings and the actuator extends the plurality of locking pins, the pin disposed over the one of the plurality of openings passes into the one of the plurality of openings. In various embodiments, the plurality of pins may comprise a length equal to or greater than a length between two adjacent openings of the plurality of openings.

  • Patent number: 10452361
Abstract: In some embodiments, a real-time event is detected and context is determined based on the real-time event. An application model is fetched based on the context and meta-data associated with the real-time event, the application model referencing a micro-function and including pre-condition and post-condition descriptors. A graph is constructed based on the micro-function. The micro-function is transformed into micro-capabilities by determining a computing resource for execution of a micro-capability by matching pre-conditions and post-conditions of the micro-capability, and enabling execution and configuration of the micro-capability on the computing resource by providing access in a target environment to an API capable of calling the micro-capability to configure and execute the micro-capability. A request is received from the target environment to execute and configure the micro-capability on the computing resource.

  • Patent number: 10452747
Abstract: The Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) standard defines a way to describe two-dimensional graphics within the extensible markup language (XML) that can be interpreted by multiple programs. The SVG standard, however, lacks native support for several user experience features, such as look and feel settings (e.g., themes) that affect multiple objects within a document. The present disclosure, however, teaches how an SVG object may be made theme-aware and still comply with the SVG standard so that it is portable between files and applications that apply the present disclosure and those that do not. By enabling the dynamic updating of SVG objects, the benefits to the user experience and computer efficiency associated with standardized vector graphics and the document-wide application of look and feel settings can be realized without deviating from the SVG standard.

  • Patent number: 10454341
Abstract: An example system includes a disk that is rotatable and has a plurality of ferromagnetic elements disposed in a radial array on a surface of the disk; and at least one electro-permanent magnet (EPM) mounted adjacent to the disk such that a gap separates the disk from the EPM. Applying an electric pulse to the at least one EPM changes a magnetic state thereof, thereby generating an external magnetic field that traverses the gap between the disk and the EPM and interacts with a ferromagnetic element of the plurality of ferromagnetic elements, and causing a rotational speed of the disk to change as the disk rotates.

  • Patent number: 10454571
Abstract: Dynamic determination of threshold power level for use in distinguishing between downlink and uplink periods in time-division duplexed (TDD) communications. For example, downlink and uplink periods may be distinguished in TDD communications in a distributed communications system (DCS), such as a distributed antenna system (DAS). Detecting a power level in a TDD communications signal less than the threshold power level is used to identify uplink periods in the TDD communications signal. In this manner, TDD communications circuits involved with transmitting TDD communications signals can synchronize their transmission circuitry to only transmit downlink TDD communications signals in downlink periods and receive uplink TDD communications signals in uplink periods.

  • Patent number: 10452878
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for student accountability systems. School buses can be equipped with a bus system that executes a driver application. Students carry student identification (ID) systems that identify the students to the bus system, which in turn reports a geographic location to a student accountability system. The bus system is configured to permit rapid boarding and easy usage by drivers. The student accountability system provides a parent portal and an administrator portal to monitor the students and provide other useful functions.

  • Patent number: 10455005
Abstract: According to some aspects described herein, a system may determine whether a network actor appears to be using an intermediary such as a VPN and/or proxy server. This may be accomplished by directing the network actor to request and/or access a network-segment identification resource which may, in some embodiments, be stored in another region of the global network. The system may include links and/or other identifiers pointing the network actor to one or more network-segment identification resources. The network actor may access the network-segment identification resources using the links or identifiers, and the system may use information about the request for the network-segment identification resource to determine whether the network actor is associated with multiple source addresses.
