Abstract: An ophthalmic device comprises an ultrasonic transducer, an accommodation actuator, and a controller. When the ophthalmic device is mounted in or on an eye of a user, the ultrasonic transducer is positioned to direct ultrasonic signals towards ciliary processes in the eye and the accommodation actuator is positioned to focus light entering the eye. The controller is coupled to the ultrasonic transducer and the accommodation actuator. The controller includes logic that when executed by the controller causes the ophthalmic device to perform operations including emitting the ultrasonic signals from the ultrasonic transducer towards the ciliary processes, receiving reflected ultrasonic signals from the ciliary processes with the ultrasonic transducer, calculating a time of flight between emitting the ultrasonic signals and receiving the reflected ultrasonic signals, and adjusting an optical power of the accommodation actuator based on the time of flight.
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed including receiving an electronic access request to add a secondary electronic profile of a secondary user to a primary electronic profile of a primary user. A processor generates and sends a first security challenge to the primary user and a secondary security challenge to the secondary user. The processor receives a response from the primary user in response to the first security challenge and a response from the secondary user in response to the secondary security challenge. The processor authenticates the electronic access request based on the first response being a valid response and the secondary response being a valid response. The processor generates the secondary electronic profile as a nested profile within the primary electronic profile. The processor instructs the primary user device or the secondary user device to display a confirmation of the secondary user being added to the primary electronic profile.

Abstract: A decoder receives, from a bitstream for a block vector (BV), an indication of a block vector predictor (BVP). The decoder determines a sign of a first component of a block vector difference (BVD) based on a component of the BV and a component of the BVP. The decoder decodes the BV based on the BVP and the BVD. The decoder generates an intra block compensated prediction of a current block (CB) based on the BV. The decoder decodes the CB based on the intra block compensated prediction and a residual of the CB.

Abstract: A mobile device communicates content to an external presentation device, such as a display device, for display or other presentation at the external presentation device. The mobile device identifies a user handedness of a user of the mobile device. One or more configuration settings for a user interface of the external presentation device are determined based on the user handedness of the user. These configuration settings are, for example, settings for any of various user interface elements displayed by the external presentation device such as icons, buttons, menus, widgets, and so forth. The configuration settings are communicated to the external presentation device, allowing the external presentation device to be configured for or adapted to the user handedness of the user.

Abstract: Distributed appending of transactions in data lakes is described. A first message is received, at a first ingestion node of a plurality of ingestion nodes, as part of a transaction. The first message identifies a transaction identifier (ID) and a portion of data for the transaction. The data of the first message is persisted in temporary storage. A count of messages for the transaction for the first ingestion node is determined. Based on at least the count of messages, it is determined that the first ingestion node has received a complete set of messages for the transaction for the first ingestion node. A metadata write request is transmitted, by the first ingestion node, to a coordinator. The metadata write request includes a self-describing reference to persisted data. The self-describing reference identifies the first ingestion node, location information of the persisted data, and a range of the first data.
