Abstract: Optical lenses and associated luminaire are described herein. In one aspect, a lens comprises a light receiving side comprising grooves for receiving light emitting diodes, the grooves defined by a central refractive region and walls comprising total internal reflection faces; and a light extraction side opposite the light receiving side, the light extraction side comprising refractive extraction surfaces, total internal reflection extraction surfaces, or combinations thereof. In some embodiments, luminaire comprises an array of light emitting diodes; and the lens positioned over the array of light emitting diodes.

Abstract: The technology described herein efficiently determines whether a real inode is shared among views, or owned. In-memory data structures include a view snapshot generation counter that is increased as a snapshot that generates a view is created, and an inode total weight. An in-memory virtual inode cache dataset for a filesystem object associated with the view is instantiated with the value of snapshot generation counter, sharing-related data based on the inode mapping file entry for the object, and an inode access weight. To determine whether the inode is shared (and needs to be split), such as on a write to the object, the in-memory data is evaluated. The real inode is shared if the generation counters are unequal, if the sharing-related data indicates sharing at an intermediate indirect block level, or indicates sharing at the inode level and the inode access weight is less than the inode total weight.

Abstract: A hypothesis stitcher for speech recognition of long-form audio provides superior performance, such as higher accuracy and reduced computational cost. An example disclosed operation includes: segmenting the audio stream into a plurality of audio segments; identifying a plurality of speakers within each of the plurality of audio segments; performing automatic speech recognition (ASR) on each of the plurality of audio segments to generate a plurality of short-segment hypotheses; merging at least a portion of the short-segment hypotheses into a first merged hypothesis set; inserting stitching symbols into the first merged hypothesis set, the stitching symbols including a window change (WC) symbol; and consolidating, with a network-based hypothesis stitcher, the first merged hypothesis set into a first consolidated hypothesis.

Abstract: An agricultural header includes a main section and at least one wing section, which is pivotably coupled to the main section. The main section includes a main frame. The at least one wing section includes a wing frame. The header further includes a cutting element, a linkage, and an actuator. The cutting element is supported by the main frame and the wing section. The linkage pivotably couples the at least one wing section to the main section. The linkage includes an upper bar and a lower bar which are both coupled to the main frame and to the wing frame. The actuator is coupled to at least one of the upper bar, the lower bar, and the at least one wing section.

Abstract: Systems, as described herein, may use smart contracts and distributed ledgers in distributed networks to determine points earned by consumer and settle points for merchants. Distributed ledgers in the distributed network may be used to store transactions executed by merchant digital wallets and consumer digital wallet. Smart contracts in distributed networks may be used to maintain point balances associated with the consumer digital wallets and the merchant digital wallets of the consumer, determine points earned by consumer digital wallets, settle points for merchant digital wallets, and send messages to consumer digital wallets regarding expiring points. Systems, as described herein, may also send individualized recommendations of goods and services to the consumer digital wallets.

Abstract: An adaptive collaborative platform applies various machine learning techniques to correlate potential purchasers with high-value articles of property that may be of interest. Attributes, characteristics, preferences, and the like of a potential purchaser are scored against attributes and features of articles. The platform learns from interaction by the agents and the potential purchasers and adapts to become more attuned to the desires and lifestyle of purchasers and to gain more and more pertinent information from the listing agents regarding high-value articles, so as to ultimately to arrive at a better match between a high value article for sale and a likely purchaser.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a computer-implemented method and system for improvements to emotional and behavioral interfaces. In an example, a first group of color-coded regions is displayed representing emotions and behaviors for data collected from one or more participants using an input method. Correspondences are determined within the first group of color-coded regions. Individual ones of the first group of color-coded regions are provided with a first portion of pixels in a first color associated with a value in the data based in part on the correspondences. A second portion of pixels is provided with a second color associated with a neutral indication. Changes to the data over discrete or random intervals of time are determined as modifying the correspondences. A dynamical change is applied to the first portion of pixels and the second portion of pixels to update the display of the first group of color-coded regions.

In another embodiment, the geosynthetic contains a composition containing (A) a polypropylene; (B) a halogen-free flame retardant; and (C) greater than 20 wt % zinc sulfide, based on the total weight of the composition. The composition has a specific gravity greater than 1.00 g/cc.

Abstract: A lottery ticket dispensing method provides different types of lottery tickets in a jurisdiction and includes providing first lottery tickets for sale from a dispenser for a first type of lottery game. Upon a player making a selection of one of the first lottery tickets for purchase, a controller in communication with the dispenser determines whether one or more other lottery games are available for play within the jurisdiction. The method assigns one or more companion games from the available other lottery games based on the player's selection of the first lottery ticket and predefined filter values. The companion games are presented to the player as a suggestion or recommendation for an additional lottery ticket purchase. Upon the player selecting one of the companion games for purchase, the additional lottery ticket is provided to the player from the dispenser.

Abstract: A handheld light assembly for eradicating pathogens includes a housing. A processor and a lamp are disposed inside the housing. The lamp irradiates surfaces with disinfecting ultraviolet light having a peak wavelength of 222 nm filtered to restrict illumination to between 200 nm and 230 nm within an irradiation zone. A distance measuring system includes a secondary light source generating secondary light and a photodetector for measuring distance of the secondary light to a surface being irradiated by the lamp light being reflected from the surface to the photodetector. The secondary light source is offset at an angle from the lamp thereby projecting the light beam to a central area of the irradiation zone generated by the lamp. The photodetector signals the processor to calculate a vertical distance between the lamp and the central area of the irradiation zone on the surface being irradiated from an angular projection of the secondary light.

Abstract: Described herein is a system and method for an append-only block-oriented object storage system. An unstructured storage object is stored in cloud storage. A block is data is received, from a client, to append to the unstructured storage object. A universally unique identifier of the client, and client contextual information regarding the block of data, are received from the client. The client contextual information comprises an identifier of a most recently appended block from the client. When the identifier of the most recently appended block from the client matches a stored identifier associated with the universally unique identifier of the client, the block of data is appended to the unstructured storage object, and the stored identifier associated with the universally unique identifier of the client is updated in accordance with the received client contextual information.

Abstract: A system and method of calibrating moving cameras capturing a sporting event is disclosed herein. A computing system retrieves a broadcast video feed for a sporting event. The broadcast video feed includes a plurality of video frames. The computing system labels, via a neural network, components of a playing surface captured in each video frame. The computing system matches a subset of labeled video frames to a set of templates with various camera perspectives. The computing system fits a playing surface model to the set of labeled video frames that were matched to the set of templates. The computing system identifies camera motion in each video frame using an optical flow model. The computing system generates a homography matrix for each video frame based on the fitted playing surface model and camera motion. The computing system calibrates each camera based on the homography matrix generated for each video frame.

Abstract: Systems and method are disclosed for providing advertisements to users by determining the occurrence of user defined external triggering events comprising a moment. One method comprises defining a set of conditions or criteria that define a moment, collecting data associated with said set of conditions or criteria, evaluating whether the conditions or criteria are satisfied and whether the user defined moment has occurred, executing an advertisement campaign associated with said user defined moment, transmitting an advertisement associated with said user defined moment to a target user, and modifying said advertisement in accordance with changes in the data associated with the conditions or criteria.

Abstract: In certain aspects of the present disclosure, a computer-implemented method includes receiving a 3D imaging. The method includes generating 3D models based on the 3D imaging. The method includes generating, responsive to a pre-determined set of surgical steps, a finite number of 4D time deformation scenes for each pre-determined surgical step associated with the 3D models. The method includes displaying selectively interactive simulations based on the finite number of 4D time deformation scenes. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

Abstract: A suspension element includes a main body having an end cap defining an internal volume and a tubular element slidably engaged with the main body. The suspension element further includes a first piston and a flow control element. The flow control element is configured to prevent movement of the tubular element relative the main body in a direction. The suspension element may further include a locking member and a piston. The locking member may be configured to engage a barrier of the main body when the first piston traverses at least a predetermined distance towards the end cap. The locking member may be affixed to the tubular element and may fully surround the tubular element. Together the flow control element and the locking member are configured to prevent movement of the suspension element.

Abstract: A method for training a machine learning model using information pertaining to characteristics of upload activity performed at one or more client devices includes generating first training input including (i) information identifying, for each of a plurality of application categories, data categories pertaining to first amounts of data uploaded from the client device during a specified time interval. The method includes generating a first target output that indicates whether the data categories corresponding to the first amounts of data correspond to malicious or non-malicious upload activity. The method includes providing the training data to train the machine learning model on (i) a set of training inputs including the first training input, and (ii) a set of target outputs including the first target output.

The disclosure also provides methods, compositions, and kits for detecting fetal nucleic acids in biological samples (e.g., cell-free fetal DNA). An embodiment includes a method of improving the accuracy of fetal sex determination by reducing a level of contaminating DNA in a blood sample from a pregnant human subject, comprising obtaining a capillary blood sample collected from the upper arm using a push-button blood collection device, thereby reducing a level of contaminating DNA from a non-maternal and non-fetal source in the capillary blood sample as compared to a blood sample collected from a site on the finger or hand of the subject, and detecting the presence or absence of fetal Y-chromosome to determine the sex of the fetus.

Abstract: A method for providing financial alerts includes retrieving financial transaction data for the plurality of financial instruments. The financial transaction data includes at least open price, close price, high price, low price, time and volume of individual financial transactions. Time periods for generating user requested information are identified. Price charts for the time periods are generated based on the retrieved financial transaction data. The generated price charts include one or more technical indicators. A financial alert configuration received from a user is analyzed. The financial alert configuration includes a trigger condition. The generated price charts are automatically analyzed to calculate the relative position of the technical indicator conditions that the user has selected in order to determine if one or more of the trigger conditions has been met. An alert notification is generated, in response to determining that the one or more trigger conditions has been met.

Abstract: In one example, a mobile device comprises: a physical link; a plurality of image sensors, each image sensor being configured to transmit image data via the physical link; and a controller coupled to the physical link, whereby the physical link, the plurality of image sensors, and the controller form a multi-drop network. The controller is configured to: transmit a control signal to configure image sensing operations at the plurality of image sensors; receive, via the physical link, image data from at least a subset of the plurality of image sensors; combine the image data from the at least a subset of the plurality of image sensors to obtain an extended field of view (FOV); determine information of a surrounding environment of the mobile device captured within the extended FOV; and provide the information to an application to generate content based on the information.

Abstract: At times, it may be desirable to determine that a client system is, or to determine the number of client systems that are, presenting particular dynamic content when an auditable event occurs in the dynamic content. One manner of making the determination may include accessing presentation time information that indicates the time(s) at which one or more client systems present particular dynamic content and accessing event time information indicating the time(s) at which one or more auditable events occur in the dynamic particular content. Based on the presentation time information and the event time information, it may be possible to determine that a client system is, or to determine the number of client systems that are, presenting particular dynamic content when an auditable event occurs in the dynamic content.
