  • Patent number: 11926141
Abstract: A structural member including a lightweight core, one or more skins, and a crosslinking nanolayer interposed therebetween that results in significant mechanical strength in the structure. The core is a polymer of reduced density by way of included voids, such as an open or closed cell foam, honeycomb, or corrugated structure. The core polymer has a lower density and may have a higher softening or melting temperature than the polymer skin materials. The core may be discontinuous at the interface with the skin such that only a small percentage of the core surface is actually in contact with the skin compared to the overall area of the interface. The skin may be a thermoplastic layer that attaches to the core material. The skin may be a composite material including non-thermoplastic reinforcements. The crosslinking nanolayer is covalently bonded to the surface of the core material and provides molecular compatibility with the skin material.

  • Patent number: 11929680
Abstract: The present disclosure describes various aspects of adaptive current control in switching power regulators for fast transient response. In some aspects, a clock of a switching power regulator is prevented, in response to detecting a transient load, from affecting application of current to an inductor of the regulator. A first switch device applies current to the inductor of the regulator until inductor current reaches a maximum current level. A second switch device then enables the current to flow through the inductor until the inductor current reaches a current control signal based on an output voltage of the switching power regulator. In some aspects, an offset is also applied to the current control signal to further increase average inductor current. These operations may be repeated without interruption from the clock to quickly increase the inductor current, and thus current provided to the regulator output in response to the transient load.

  • Patent number: 11926396
Abstract: An advisory system of a vessel that monitors variables of a vessel system inclusive of systems and subsystems that are used to operate the vessel. The advisory system may use machine-learning to learn from an operator (i) whether or not two variables are related to one another, and (ii) likelihood that a variable will reach a threshold, and, optionally, time until reaching the threshold. The system may receive operator feedback (i) to indicate whether the two variables are related to one another, and (ii) whether a behavior of the variable is normal or not normal. Thereafter, if a determination that the same two variables are related to one another and behaving in a similar manner, provide notification to the operator of the behavior. In response to determining that the variable is behaving (e.g., trending) in a similar manner that is not normal, providing a notification to the operator.

  • Patent number: 11930459
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for dynamically disabling beamforming functionality of one or more frequency bands. For example, a frequency band may have beamforming enabled. One or more user devices may be connected to the frequency band having beamforming enabled for access to a wireless telecommunications network. User devices connected with the frequency band may be at various locations of a network cell of the wireless telecommunications network (e.g., a cell center, middle cell, cell edge). Fading information may be received by one or more of the user devices connected with the frequency band. One or more fading channel measurements of the first frequency band may be above a threshold. In some embodiments, a fading channel measurement of the first frequency band is higher than another available frequency band having beamforming enabled. As such, beamforming of the first frequency band can be dynamically disabled.

  • Patent number: 11928875
Abstract: Described herein is a mechanism for visual recognition of items or visual search using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) of text in images. Recognized OCR blocks in an image comprise position information and recognized text. The embodiments utilize a location-aware feature vector created using the position and recognized information in each recognized block. The location-aware features of the feature vector utilize position information associated with the block to calculate a weight for the block. The recognized text is used to construct a tri-character gram frequency, inverse document frequency (TGF-IDP) metric using tri-character grams extracted from the recognized text. Features in location-aware feature vector for the block are computed by multiplying the weight and the corresponding TGF-IDF metric. The location-aware feature vector for the image is the sum of the location-aware feature vectors for the individual blocks.
