Abstract: A motorized window treatment may include a roller tube, a flexible material, a motor drive unit, and mounting brackets. The roller tube may be configured to rotate about a longitudinal axis that defines a longitudinal direction to operate the flexible material between a raised position and a lowered position. The motor drive unit may include a housing that defines a cavity that receives a motor and one or more batteries for powering the motor drive unit. The motor drive unit may include a printed circuit board to which a control circuit is mounted. The control circuit may comprise a switch. The motor drive unit may comprise an actuation member configured to transfer a first force applied in a first direction at an end portion of the motor drive unit to a second force in a second direction within the cavity of the housing to actuate the switch.

Abstract: A diagnostic system to aid in diagnosing conditions underneath a subject's skin that predict intravascular device failure is provided. The diagnostic system includes an ultrasound unit that uses ultrasonic energy to obtain images underneath the subject's skin surrounding the insertion site of an intravascular device. The ultrasound unit is in electronic communication with a computing device that collects and stores data generated by the ultrasound unit. The computing device utilizes machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques to identify conditions underneath the subject's skin that predict intravascular device failure, and through a user interface, indicates to the user that subcutaneous conditions predictive of intravascular device failure are present.

Abstract: A fresh produce package includes a laminated polymer film having water transport windows that impart a limited, controlled water vapor transport rate (MVTR), thereby avoiding produce desiccation, while also avoiding excess moisture pooling. The film comprises a low MVTR layer, such as heat-sealable PET, laminated to a high MVTR layer, such as nylon, PLA, or cellulose. The film includes lamination gaps, for example created using an adhesive spray-blocking mask or an adhesive-applying roller with insets. A cutting device, such as a laser or die-cutter, forms moisture transport windows (MTWs) by cutting out panels of the low MVTR layer in the gaps while leaving the high MVTR layer in place. Container seams can be formed by heat sealing of the low MVTR layer to itself, or to an underlying tray. The film can be gas-impermeable, and can include microperforations to establish a modified gas atmosphere within the package.

Abstract: In some embodiments, user extraction of in-video text may be facilitated. In some embodiments, a video associated with a video communication session may be processed to detect moving text to which a first user is referring in the video. Based on the detection of the moving text, location information associated with the moving text may be determined. For example, the location information may indicate spatial locations of the moving text. Based on the text location information, a graphical text location indicator may be overlayed on the video (e.g., on a first portion of a user interface of a user device) where the graphical text location indicator is presented proximate the moving text. Selectable text corresponding to the moving text and an auxiliary indicator corresponding to the graphical text location indicator may be presented on a second portion of the user interface.

Abstract: A die bonding system uses an inert gas chamber having a bottom aperture through which a heater assembly can insert a part for bonding, a cover having a top aperture through which a die bond head can insert and bond a die to the part, and a plurality of apertures through a base of the inert gas chamber through which a forming gas is bled through to evacuate the chamber of oxygen before performing a die bonding operation, reducing the potential for oxidation while maintaining cycle times suitable for use in a production environment.

Abstract: Aqueous well treatment fluids especially suited for use in far field diversion in low viscosity carrier fluids comprise water, a friction reducer, and a diverter. The diverter comprises dissolvable particulates and proppants. The dissolvable particulates have a specific gravity of from about 0.9 to about 1.6 and a particle size of about 50 mesh or less. The proppants have a specific gravity of from about 0.9 to about 1.4 and a particle size of from about 20 to about 100 mesh. The dissolvable particulates have a higher specific gravity and a smaller particle size than the proppant.

Abstract: A system and method of advertising based on the automatic determination of an advertising recipient's location and inferences of preferences derived from usage behaviors is disclosed. The advertising recipient's location that is considered in delivering a specific advertisement may be the current location or one or more historical locations. Proximity considerations with regard to other people, locations, or physical objects may influence the advertisement that is to be delivered. The advertisement may be delivered to a mobile device that has location-aware capabilities such as a Global Positioning System-based system.

Abstract: A method for remotely updating the behavior and state of a medical device or the firmware itself of a medical device, not requiring physical access to the device, that occurs through an encrypted and authenticated communication channel. The behavior and state of the device may be modified from a healthcare provider interface through a transmission method. The firmware of the medical device may be modified by the use of over the air device firmware updates, created from a designated secure machine called a build machine described herein. Both actions are transmitted to a server and then forwarded to a companion device and are particularly designed so that the server never stores sensitive cryptographic material in the event of server compromise. The companion device forwards the update to the medical device, which decrypts and validates the update or command before performing the change.

A method of controlling equipment of a swimming pool or spa using the pool vision system may include receiving visual data from the camera having a field of view including the equipment and identify the equipment in the visual data and determining an operational state of the equipment based on the visual data. The method incudes comparing the determined operational state of the equipment with an expected operational state of the equipment and generating a control response based on a difference between the determined operational state of the equipment and the expected operational state of the equipment.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for transcribing an utterance includes receiving, at a computing system, speech data that characterizes an utterance of a user. A first set of candidate transcriptions of the utterance can be generated using a static class-based language model that includes a plurality of classes that are each populated with class-based terms selected independently of the utterance or the user. The computing system can then determine whether the first set of candidate transcriptions includes class-based terms. Based on whether the first set of candidate transcriptions includes class-based terms, the computing system can determine whether to generate a dynamic class-based language model that includes at least one class that is populated with class-based terms selected based on a context associated with at least one of the utterance and the user.

Abstract: A method includes generating, by a transmit digital to analog circuit of a low voltage drive circuit (LVDC), analog outbound data. The analog outbound data includes a direct current (DC) component and an oscillating component at a first frequency. The method further includes generating, by an analog transmit encryption signal generator of a transmit encrypt module of the LVDC, an analog transmit encryption signal having at least one frequency component, multiplying, by a mixer of the transmit encrypt module, the analog outbound data with the analog transmit encryption signal to produce an encrypted transmit signal having frequency components that differ from the first frequency. The method further includes generating, by a power source circuit of a drive-sense circuit of the LVDC, the encrypted analog outbound data as an analog transmit signal of a bus signal based on analog inbound data.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for preparing an electroactive material for an electrochemical cell that cycles lithium ions. The method includes immersing a plurality of electroactive material particles in an aqueous solution and adding one or more fluorinated lithium salts to the aqueous solution to form a protective particle coating on each of the electroactive material particles of the plurality of electroactive material particles, where the plurality of electroactive material particles defines the electroactive material. The protective particle coatings are continuous coatings that cover greater than or equal to about 95% of a total exposed surface area of each electroactive material particle of the plurality of electroactive material particles.

Abstract: Described are methods of field conditioning and preserving pollen and/or anthers from the Poaceae family of plants. A method of the present invention includes collecting fresh pollen and/or anthers and introducing the pollen and/or anthers to field conditioning conditions which regulate pollen moisture content. The field conditioning conditions may include an air flow at a humidity ranging from 50% to about 100% and a temperature ranging from about ?10 to about 10° C. The field conditioning conditions and preservation conditions may further include a flow of one or more continuously refreshed, selected gases passing through pollen held on a permeable or impermeable surface. The field conditioning conditions may dehydrate the pollen to achieve a pollen moisture content of about 15% to about 35%. The preservation conditions may dehydrate the pollen to achieve a pollen moisture content of about 40% to about 58%.

A method includes selecting, by a computer-implemented system, a first plurality of sampling points in an N-dimensional parameter space associated with a vehicle capability test, classifying, by the computer-implemented system, each sampling point of the first plurality of sampling points into a first class based on a vehicle passing a test scenario associated with the respective sampling point; or a second class based on the vehicle failing the test scenario associated with the respective sampling point; and determining, by the computer-implemented system based on the classifying, a capability of the vehicle. The classifying can include computing a first hyperplane in the N-dimensional parameter space to separate the first plurality of sampling points into the first class and the second class.

Abstract: A joint decorticator instrument configured for single use. The joint decorticator has a metal rod affixed within a polymer sheath. The polymer sheath has a longitudinal channel configured to receive an alignment protrusion with a working channel for maintaining the joint decorticator in a proper alignment relative to the working channel. The joint decorticator may include an integrated extraction mechanism involves an extraction lever pivotally connected to the handle portion of the polymer sheath. The extraction lever has an eccentric cam mechanism. When the extraction lever is pivoted toward an open position, the cam exerts a force onto a collar of the working channel and an opposite force on the connector pin that pivotally connects the extraction lever to the polymer sheath, thereby dislodging the abrading head of the joint decorticator from the joint.

Abstract: In certain aspects, the present disclosure relates to a composition comprising 30% to 45% vol/vol castor oil, 25% to 35% vol/vol propylene glycol, 5% to 15% vol/vol oleic acid, 15% to 25% wt/vol rodent repellent, and 0% to 10% vol/vol water. The disclosure also relates to methods of repelling a rodent from a substrate comprising applying to a substrate the compositions described herein.
