Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including a first array of light emitters having a first spacing in a first emission region of the display panel and a second array of light emitters having a second spacing in a second emission region of the display panel. The second spacing is distinct from the first spacing. The display device includes an optical filter including a first filter region and a second filter region. The first filter region changes distribution of first light from the first array of light emitters impinging on the first filter region so that the first light has a first distribution after passing through the first filter region. The second filter region changes distribution of second light from the second array of light emitters impinging on the second filter region so that the second light has a second distribution after passing through the second filter region.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for monitoring content consumption. A method may comprise determining, by a device, content accessed by one or more user devices. The method may comprise causing a distributed ledger record to be generated. The distributed ledger record may comprise an indication of the content. The distributed ledger record may be stored on a distributed ledger. The distributed ledger may comprise other records indicating content accessed by a plurality of other devices.
Abstract: A rubber compound for use in a stator. The stator may be deployed in a positive displacement motor. The rubber compound includes a fiber reinforcement, wherein fibers in the fiber reinforcement create a grain direction in which “with the grain” is generally orthogonal to “across the grain”. In some embodiments, the rubber compound has a first value for 25% tensile Modulus across the grain and a second value for 25% tensile Modulus with the grain, wherein the first value is at least 10% lower than the second value. In such embodiments, the fiber reinforcement may further include a fiber loading of greater than 1.0 phr of fibers. In such embodiments, the rubber compound may further have a 25% tensile Modulus of greater than 400 psi across the grain and a 50% tensile Modulus of greater than 700 psi across the grain.
Abstract: A method of treating a product or surface with a reactive gas, comprises producing the reactive gas by forming a high-voltage cold plasma (HVCP) from a working gas; transporting the reactive gas at least 5 cm away from the HVCP; followed by contacting the product or surface with the reactive gas. The HVCP does not contact the product or surface.

Abstract: A waveguide display includes a substrate transparent to visible light, a first grating on the substrate and configured to couple display light into or out of the substrate, and a phase structure on the substrate and configured to change a polarization state of the display light after or before the display light reaches the first grating. The first grating is characterized by a polarization-dependent diffraction efficiency. The first grating includes, for example, a surface-relief grating or a volume Bragg grating.
Abstract: A system and method of identifying objects is provided. In one aspect, the system and method includes a hand-held device with a display, camera and processor. As the camera captures images and displays them on the display, the processor compares the information retrieved in connection with one image with information retrieved in connection with subsequent images. The processor uses the result of such comparison to determine the object that is likely to be of greatest interest to the user. The display simultaneously displays the images the images as they are captured, the location of the object in an image, and information retrieved for the object.

Abstract: At parties and other social gatherings, drinks are typically served in non-descript glassware. As a result, patrons may be unable to distinguish their glass from others once they are set down on a table. Unintentionally swapping glasses can be unsanitary and wasteful (increasing costs for the host of the event). To solve these problems, the inventors have created an easy way for people to mark their glassware with individualized stickers that are easy to remove at the conclusion of a gathering. The invention is water-soluble stickers that are designed around the theme of the gathering. Guests select from a set of unique stickers and adhere one to their glass—they work on all glassware (even without stems). At the end of the gathering, the host can easily remove the drink markers by running the glassware under water or by placing them in the dishwasher as they normally would.
Abstract: A multi-tiered surgical table and a fitted drape for the table are disclosed. The table has a pair of table tops: a rearward, inclined top at a first elevation and a forward top at a lower second elevation. The drape has top panels corresponding in shape to the table tops, with a step panel therebetween to accommodate the change in elevation. The drape is provided, front, top and rear with receptacles for fluids and waste materials and pockets for surgical supplies such as sponges.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing actionable suggestions are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes receiving (i) an indication that an event detection module has determined that a shared event of a particular type is presently occurring or has occurred, and (ii) data referencing an attribute associated with the shared event. The method includes selecting, from among multiple output templates that are each associated with a different type of shared event, a particular output template associated with the particular type of shared event detected by the module. The method generates a notification for output using at least (i) the selected particular output template, and (ii) the data referencing the attribute associated with the shared event. The method then provides, for output to a user device, the notification that is generated.

Abstract: In some examples, a computing device is able to communicate with a plurality of data clusters. For example, a first data cluster may be configured with a first version of data cluster software including a first library version, and a second data cluster may be configured with a second version of data cluster software including a second library version that is different from the first. The computing device may execute a single instance of an application to send, based at least on information in the first library version, to the first data cluster, a request for first data, and may receive the first data from the first cluster. Further, the computing device may send, based at least on information in the second library version, second data that is based on the first data to the second data cluster to store the second data with the second data cluster.
