Abstract: Provided is an LED comprised of a first and a second p-n junction deposited sequentially on the same wafer. The first and second junctions have opposite orders of deposition of the n- and p-layers. One light-emitting active region is embedded between the n- and p-layers of the first junction and another light-emitting active region is embedded between the n- and p-layers of the second junction. Contacts are processed such that forward current can be passed in parallel through both of the junctions using a single voltage source. For a given forward current, the LED operates at lower voltage with higher optical flux and efficiency.

Abstract: A database system is operable to determine a query operator execution flow that includes a plurality of operators for execution of a corresponding query against a database having a schema that includes a plurality of columns. The query operator execution flow is executed in conjunction with executing the corresponding query against the database based on generating a first plurality of data blocks of a multi-column data stream as first output of a first operator of the plurality of operators, where each data block of the multi-column data stream includes column values for each of the plurality of columns. Executing the query operator execution flow is further based on processing the multi-column data stream as input of a second operator of the plurality of operators serially after the first operator to generate a second plurality of data blocks as second output of the second operator.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to headset virtual presence techniques. For example, a participant of a communication session may not have an associated video feed, for example as a result of a user preference to disable video communication or a lack of appropriate hardware. Accordingly, a virtual presence may be generated for such a non-video participant, such that the non-video participant may be represented within the communication session similar to video participants. The virtual presence may be controllable using a headset device, for example such that movements identified by the headset device cause the virtual presence to move. In some instances, user input may be received to control emotions conveyed by the virtual presence, for example specifying an emotion type and/or intensity.

Abstract: Disclosed active reflector apparatus and methods that inhibit self-induced oscillation. One illustrative apparatus embodiment includes an amplifier and an adjustable phase shifter. The amplifier amplifies a receive signal to generate a transmit signal, the transmit signal causing interference with the receive signal. The adjustable phase shifter modifies the phase of the transmit signal relative to that of the receive signal to inhibit oscillation. A controller may periodically test a range of settings for the adjustable phase shifter to identify undesirable phase shifts prone to self-induced oscillation, and may maintain the phase shift setting at a value that inhibits oscillation.
