Abstract: A computer device includes a processor configured to simulate a virtual environment based on a set of virtual environment parameters, and perform ray tracing to render a view of the simulated virtual environment. The ray tracing includes generating a plurality of rays for one or more pixels of the rendered view of the simulated virtual environment. The processor is further configured to determine sub-pixel data for each of the plurality of rays based on intersections between the plurality of rays and the simulated virtual environment, and store the determined sub-pixel data for each of the plurality of rays in an image file.

Abstract: Described herein, system that facilitates replication of data in a geographically distributed storage environment. According to an embodiment, a system can comprise determining whether a data storage system is in an active data storage mode or a passive data storage mode. In active data storage mode, the data storage system can accept connections from an application, permit the application to store new data objects, replicate the new data objects to other data storage systems, and accept replicated data. In passive data storage mode, the data storage system can block storage of new data objects by the application while accepting replicated data.

Abstract: The technology relates to executing a multi-portion web application. A web browser executing on one or more computing devices may load a main portion of a web application into a main window. The web browser may load into a sandboxed environment a feature application. The feature application may include a portion of the web application. A release isolation framework (RIF) executing on the one or more computing devices, may apply one or more patches to the sandboxed environment. The one or more patches may be configured to redirect elements from a window of the sandboxed environment to the main window.

Abstract: The present technology pertains to visualization of maps used for autonomous vehicle applications. These maps include many layers of dense information. Each layer can be stored in a vector format and small portions, called tiles, of a map can be requested by a users web browser. The web browser can filter for desired layers and render all desired map layers at once to provide visualization of map and layers of interest.

Abstract: A container having a battery and one or more active systems for maintaining temperature or other characteristics of goods stored within the container relies on a battery to maintain those active systems during transit. The size of the battery required for such applications may be reduced by providing access to external power during a shipment cycle. For example, shelves within transit vehicles or warehouses can supply electricity to the active systems via a wireless or wired connection, or they may recharge the container's battery, or both. The container may also have data bridging capabilities that use short range wireless technology to communicate with nearby devices that have access to other data streams, such as GPS data and internet connectivity. When bridged with a provider, the container may have access to new data streams, or may be able to disable internal devices providing those same data streams to conserve power.

Abstract: A security system is provided to integrate a local existing security system with other security and automation devices which may not be compatible with the existing security system. The security system can connect and integrate an existing security system, and provide a centralized point of controlling all existing and new security and automation devices in a premise, thereby allowing flexibility in modifying and expanding a security system in the premise without need of replacing the security system that has been already installed throughout the premise. The security system can at least partially self-program to communicate with an existing security system when the security system is connected to the existing security system.

Abstract: A method of moving at least one container includes positioning at least one container at an upstream end of a system having at least one track assembly, a linear motor assembly, and at least one product engagement assembly, the at least one product engagement assembly having a shuttle member movably engaged with the linear motor assembly and the at least one track assembly, and an adapter assembly coupled to the shuttle member and comprising a product engagement member. The method further includes engaging the at least one container with the product engagement member, moving the at least one product engagement assembly at least partially along the linear motor assembly, and articulating the product engagement member relative to the shuttle member.

Abstract: Example embodiments relate to calibration systems for light detection and ranging (lidar) devices. An example calibration system includes a calibration target that includes a surface having at least one characterized reflectivity. The surface is configured to receive one or more calibration signals emitted by a lidar device along one or more optical axes when the lidar device is separated from the calibration target by an adjustable distance. The calibration system also includes at least one lens that modifies the one or more calibration signals. In addition, the system includes an adjustable attenuator configured to attenuate each of the one or more calibration signals to simulate, in combination with the at least one lens, a distance that is greater than the adjustable distance. Further, the system includes a calibration controller configured to analyze data associated with detected reflections of the one or more calibration signals.

Abstract: A method for treating wastewater having one or more of suspended solids, dissolved solids, biological oxygen demand includes solids filtration followed by a bi-polar/bi-directional flow through ionic module fitted with anionically/cationically charged plates followed by a sub-sonic resonance module followed by another bi-polar/bi-directional flow through ionic module followed by a ultra-sonic resonance module followed by one or more anion/cation collection membrane modules. Recycle is provided in each step, wherein each step may be repeated, and wherein one or more of the steps can be bypassed.

Abstract: A passenger includes at least one seat component including a first material and at least one additive manufactured component including a second material, the at least one additive manufactured component including a plurality of zones. The at least one additive manufactured component is attached to the at least one seat component. The at least one additive manufactured component includes a lattice structure. Each of the plurality of zones have different physical properties.

Abstract: A sprinkler enclosure device includes a baseplate and a generally hollow cup extending upward therefrom in a perpendicular manner. The cup includes an inside diameter that is suitable for receiving a sprinkler body, and a height that is suitable for receiving at least a portion of the sprinkler body. The baseplate includes a central aperture for receiving the cup. The cup includes a central aperture having dimensions suitable for receiving an irrigation fitting for connecting the sprinkler body positioned within the cup to an irrigation water supply line. A sealing ring is removably positioned along the top end of the cup and includes a central opening having a diameter that is complementary to the outside diameter of the received sprinkler body. The sealing ring preventing dirt from entering the interior space of the cup.

Abstract: A control device for controlling power delivered to an electrical load includes a faceplate subassembly and a main control module. The faceplate subassembly includes a faceplate, a button, a circuit board, and a back cover. The faceplate includes a front surface and an opposed rear surface, and an opening extending therebetween with the button disposed in the opening in the faceplate. The back cover is positioned adjacent to the circuit board and defines a plurality of holes. A shaft of a post extending from the faceplate is disposed in one of the holes in the back cover and an end of the post is enlarged such that the back cover is captured between the end of the post and the rear surface of the faceplate. The main control module is configured to cause power delivered to the electrical load to be adjusted in response to depression of the button.

Abstract: A method of separating a flow of multi-phase fluid includes directing the flow through the inlet opening of an enclosed tubular body comprising a tubular sidewall with opposed end walls, one or more axial outlet apertures formed through the end walls, and one or more radial outlet apertures formed through the tubular sidewall at locations spaced from the inlet opening. The method also includes directing the flow of multi-phase fluid onto one or more swirl plates positioned between the inlet opening and the outlet apertures, with the swirl plates having angled surfaces configured to impart a cyclonic motion to the flow so as to initiate separation of the constituents of the multi-phase. The method further includes directing the gas constituent axially outward through the axial outlet aperture and directing the oil constituent and the water constituent radially outward from the tubular body through the one or more radial outlet apertures.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of a pelletized fuel delivery and combustion system are disclosed. Certain embodiments are configured to be detachably mounted to the exterior of a kettle-styled grill such as, but not limited to, a Weber® charcoal grill. When mounted to the kettle-styled grill, a firebox is external to the kettle and delivers thermal energy and smoke to the interior of the kettle by, and through, at least one damper port in the kettle. In this way, embodiments of the solution do not require significant, if any, modification to the kettle-styled grill in order for the kettle-styled grill to use a pelletized fuel source. Embodiments may also include temperature loop control and/or a thermal energy and smoke distribution plate configured to be set within the kettle of the grill.

Abstract: A frozen food appliance and related method of making a frozen food product. A rotational drive assembly configured in an axial alignment using a direct drive to produce rotational movement of a blade element to contact a frozen food precursor in a frozen food container associated with the frozen food appliance where the rotational drive assembly omits rotational speed modifying gears and transmissions positioned between a drive motor and the blade element. In another aspect, a rotational drive assembly may be kept in axial alignment with a frozen food container via a multi portioned container mount having a float connector.

Abstract: A rear firearm sight having an adjustable peep and a front firearm sight having a vertically adjustable protrusion are provided. The rear sight includes a rear post and a rear base. The rear post includes an aperture and a peep having a plurality of peep holes and a plurality of positions where each position aligns a different peep hole with the aperture. The front sight includes a front post and a front base. The front post includes a protrusion having a screw portion and a wheel mechanism. The wheel mechanism is configured to adjust the height of the protrusion by actuating the screw portion. The wheel mechanism includes a plurality of indents and a plunger configured to fit within each of the plurality of indents.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide techniques for automatically extracting data from web pages. Such extraction can take place without the use of a browser, and without necessarily rendering the entire web page. Thus, data extraction can be performed more efficiently and more quickly, while reducing the computing resources needed to perform such operations. In at least one embodiment, data extraction and translation are performed by automatically parsing structured data from visible and hidden elements of a web page.

Abstract: A container includes a pair of horizontal walls, a plurality of vertical walls, and a corner wall. The corner wall extends between an adjacent pair of the vertical walls at an oblique angle. The container also includes a corner-support flap connected to the corner wall and one of the horizontal walls. The corner-support flap holds the corner panel at the oblique angle.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed to the identification of unobservable nodes. In one example of the technology, a set of monitored machines are monitored. Each of the monitored machines includes associated monitoring logic. Monitoring the set of monitored machines includes receiving the machine information from the monitoring logic. A total inventory list of the set of monitored machines is generated in a manner that is independent of the monitoring of the monitored machines. An agent inventory list is generated such that the agent inventory list is a list of machines that, based on the monitoring of the monitored machine, are determined to have been running monitoring logic during a particular time period. Unobservable machine information that is associated with a set of unobservable machines is determined based on a comparison of the total inventory list with the agent inventory list.
