Abstract: A catheter pump is provided that includes a rotatable impeller and an elongate cannula. The elongate cannula has a mesh that has a plurality of circumferential members disposed about the impeller. The elongate cannula has a plurality of axial connector extending between a proximal side of a distal circumferential member and a distal side of a proximal circumferential member. The circumferential members are radially self-expandable. The cannula is configured to minimize fracture within at least in the distal zone of the mesh as the elongated cannula moves into a sheathing device.

Abstract: A laser light is used to modify the surface of the gallium semiconductor layer of an LED. The parameters of the laser are selected so that the laser interacts with the gallium semiconductor layer in a desired manner to yield the desired surface properties. For example, if a particular surface roughness is desired, the power of the laser light is selected so that the laser light penetrates the gallium semiconductor layer to a depth matching the desired surface roughness. The same principles can also be applied in a process that creates features such as trenches, pits, lenses, and mirrors on the gallium semiconductor layer of an LED. The laser projector is operated to irradiate a region of the gallium semiconductor layer to create a region of metallic gallium. The desired surface roughness and the different features can advantageously improve the beam collimation, light extraction, and other properties of the LED.
Abstract: In the subject matter described herein, a method, device and computer program product for controlling the projector are proposed. According to the method, the application for controlling the project can be started. The application can determine the operation mode by determining whether the current host device is the projector or a terminal device for controlling the projector. Once the operation mode of the application is determined, the method can control the projector based on the operation mode and via the application service operating on the projector. The application service can provide an interface for controlling a device driver of the projector.

Abstract: Systems and methods for scatter correction of x-ray images are provided. A scatter image of an object can be corrected using partial-scatter free images acquired using an aperture plate. The plate is positioned between an object and a radiation detector and includes apertures in a grid. The original x-rays pass through the apertures and scattered x-rays can be blocked by the aperture plate. The aperture plate can be moved to different positions, allowing partial scatter-free images to be acquired at each position of the aperture plate. A full scatter-free image can be generated by combining partial scatter-free images. The scatter and scatter-free images can be further used to train scatter correction models.
Abstract: A method of producing a crystalline material is provided that may include providing a crystal growth apparatus comprising a chamber, a hot zone, and a muffle. The hot zone may be disposed within the chamber and include at least one heating system, at least one heat removal system, and a crucible containing feedstock. Additionally, the method may include providing a muffle that surrounds at least two sides of the crucible to ensure uniform temperature distribution through the feedstock during crystal growth to allow the crystalline material to be grown with a square or rectangular shaped cross section.

A method of making a gypsum panel includes forming a first gypsum slurry by combining stucco, water, a siliconate, and a phosphate salt or polymer, and setting the first gypsum slurry to form at least part of a core of the gypsum panel, wherein the gypsum panel displays a 2-hour water absorption test weight increase of at least 10 weight percent less than an otherwise identical comparative panel containing no phosphate salt or polymer in its core.
Abstract: An autonomous can include one or more configurable passenger seats to accommodate a plurality of different seating configurations. For instance, the one or more passenger seats can include a passenger seat defining a seating orientation. The passenger seat can be configurable in a first configuration in which the seating orientation is directed towards a forward end of the autonomous vehicle and a second configuration in which the seating orientation is directed towards a rear end of the autonomous vehicle. The passenger seat can include a seatback rotatable about a pivot point on a base of the passenger seat to switch between the first configuration and the second configuration. Abstract: Bimodal high-density polyethylene polymer compositions with increased high melt strength and good processability. The compositions comprise a base resin having a density of about 945 kg/m3 to about 955 kg/m3, and an ethylene polymer (A) having a density of at least about 968 kg/m3, in an amount ranging from 45% to 55% by weight and an ethylene polymer (B) having a density lower than the density of polymer (A). The composition has a complex viscosity at a shear rate of 0.01 rad/s ranging from about 200 to 450 kPa·s and a complex viscosity at a shear rate of 100 rad/s ranging from about 1900 to 2500 Pa·s. Articles made from these compositions, such as pipes and fittings achieve long-term oxidative resistance and have a low wall thickness variability while maintaining high production output.
