  • Patent number: 11636773
Abstract: A system and process for dynamic security monitoring of test taking. The system combines historical information about the test taker or relevant conditions, and includes sensors which objectively monitor test taker's actions, inactions, and involuntary response to the test given before and during the test, and at a specific test location. The information collected from the sensors is compared to a plurality of predetermined individual risk factors, which indicate a possibility of test fraud by the individual test taker to create a test event risk profile. The individual risk profile is combined with non-individual specific risk factors to create a holistic test event security profile. Security resources are then dynamically assigned to or removed from the test event based on the unique test event security profile.

  • Patent number: 11633291
Abstract: A device for insertion into a gap between adjacent, spaced apart bony elements includes an adjustable length interconnecting member having a distal and a proximal retention plate secured to opposite ends of the interconnecting member. The distal retention plate has a non-rotated position and a plurality of rotated positions. The non-rotated position aligns the distal retention plate with the gap prior to and during insertion of the distal retention plate into the gap. The distal retention plate is rotated after it has exited the gap on a distal side of the gap to prevent its return into the gap. The proximal retention plate is misaligned with the gap so that it cannot enter into the gap. The rotated distal retention plate cooperates with the proximal retention plate to hold bony elements such as adjacent vertebral bodies in a stable relationship to one another when the interconnecting member is shortened.

  • Patent number: 11633713
Abstract: This disclosure relates to ultra-high performance diatomite products possessing very high silica specific volume, a characteristic which provides for high filtration performance, in terms of low unit consumption and long filtration cycle times. These novel products of this disclosure also show very low extractable metals for both the non-acid washed and the high purity (acid washed) grades. These characteristics are of particular value in the separation of solids from high purity liquids in electronic chemical, specialty beverage and life science applications. In addition to outstanding physical and chemical characteristics, these products also contain no detectable levels of cristobalite and have a wide range of permeabilities, and are produced from mineralogically impure ores containing high levels of alumina and iron oxide.

  • Patent number: 11635632
Abstract: This document describes a mirror-based microelectromechanical system (MEMS) for optical image stabilization in image-capture systems. The mirror-based MEMS includes a MEMS platform that can rotate about a pitch axis and/or a yaw axis. MEMS rotors drive rotational motion of the MEMS platform. One or more piezo films, flexibly connected to the stationary platform, extend over the MEMS rotors. The piezo films have a resistance value that varies when the piezo films are deformed by the MEMS rotors. The piezo films form a bridge circuit across the MEMS platform, which produces an output voltage that varies with the resistance values. A MEMS mirror, coupled to the MEMS platform, reflects light rays to an image sensor. A microcontroller receives pitch and yaw information from the image sensor. The microcontroller accesses the output voltage and determines how much to move the MEMS platform to compensate for the pitch and yaw of the camera.

  • Patent number: 11635830
Abstract: Supplementing the movement stroke of a trackpad with a haptic response is one way to restore some or all of a reduced trackpad feel and overall performance caused by a reduction in the movement stroke. However, incorporating haptic responses in a clickable trackpad may interfere with accurate force measurement using physical movement of the trackpad as a proxy. The following describes haptic trackpads with anisotropic compliant spacers. The disclosed haptic trackpads permit selective haptic responses to a user, while also permitting accurate force measurement using displacement of a sensing surface caused by the user's finger(s) as a proxy.
