Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling transmissions having CVTs are disclosed with multiple modes and gearing arrangements for range enhancements, where embodiments include synchronous shifting to allow the transmission to achieve a continuous range of transmission ratios, while minimizing “empty” cycling of the CVT during mode shifts. Embodiments provide for wide ratio range and performance and efficiency flexibility, while maximizing CVT usage through synchronous shifting.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a powertrain and a controller. The powertrain has an engine and an electric machine that are each configured to generate power within the powertrain to propel the vehicle. The controller is programmed to, generate a powertrain power output profile required to propel the vehicle over a predetermined route based on navigation data. The controller is further programmed to, in response to the electric machine operating to propel the vehicle over the predetermined route while the engine is shutdown and an upcoming increase in the powertrain power output profile to a value that is greater than a threshold, initiate an engine start at a predetermined time period before the upcoming increase in the powertrain power output profile.
Abstract: A secure cloud-based node-locking service with built-in attack detection to eliminate fuzzing, cloning and other attacks is disclosed. White-box base files are securely stored on the cloud service and are not vulnerable to accidental leakage. Abstract: The spring wire clip fastens fence wire to T-posts. The clip is constructed from hardened high carbon spring steel and has a geometry that allows the clip to be installed with no tools. The middle of the clip has a shape complementary to the T-post spine, typically a “V” shape, such that the clip wraps around the spine and the two ends extend laterally. Each end has a curl that can engage the fence wire on either side of the T-post. The clips can be installed five times faster than with standard twist-type clips and can be repositioned, or reused, as the attachment is not permanent.
Abstract: A multi-tool includes a pair of plates having respective handle portions, joint portions, and head portions, and the plates pivotally connected to each other at the joint portions and having respective opposite edges extended along the handle portions.
