Abstract: A system and method for installing an aggregate pier in a soil matrix includes a pipe configured to interface with a torque driver for rotating the pipe. A helix is disposed on the pipe and configured to advance/withdraw the pipe based on direction of rotation. A compacting device is disposed between the distal end of the pipe and the helix. It extends radially outward and upward. In some embodiments, the compacting device is configured as a frustum. A lift in an aggregate pier is formed by rotating the pipe in a second direction to withdraw a portion of the pipe from the soil matrix thereby creating a void; (b) filling the void with aggregate; (c) rotating the pipe in the first direction to advance the pipe. The compacting device contacts the aggregate disposed in the void and imparts an axial and radial force.

Abstract: A method to operate a wireless access point (WAP) that includes identifying multiple stations from uplink statistics of a plurality of uplinks and determining an optimal spatial state of an antenna array for reception of the plurality of uplinks. Channel state information (CSI) is evaluated for each antenna in the antenna array. Determining the optimal spatial state of the antenna array includes using the CSI for each antenna to extrapolate the optimal spatial state of the antenna array for the plurality of uplinks. The method further includes changing a spatial state of the antenna array to the optimal spatial state.

Abstract: Tiers of compression algorithms may be determined using compression information collected regarding compression ratios achieved for data sets using compression algorithms. Each tier may meet specified criteria regarding expected compression ratios achieved for a specified portion or number of data sets. Compression algorithms of each tier may be implemented by a different hardware device that may include hardware accelerators for the algorithms of the tier. Different tiers, and thus different hardware devices, achieve different levels of compression. A recommendation may be provided using compression information collected, such as from one of the hosts, regarding which hardware device to use for compression. The recommendation may be to purchase a license to use or whether to purchase a particular hardware device for compression. Compression information may be collected by a host that issues tagged I/Os providing a hint regarding what compression algorithm to use for the particular I/O operation data.

Abstract: A shock tube coil system includes a housing, a plurality of channels for retaining a shock tube, and, optionally, a detonator. In some examples, the shock tube coil system includes hook and loop, a bag, or other means for removably attaching the coil system to a user, robot, or other object. A user is able to store the shock tube in the housing and withdraw as much shock tube is needed for a given application. The housing may be used repeatedly, with additional shock tube being inserted into the channels once emptied.

Abstract: Systems and methods of detecting a traffic object outside of a vehicle and controlling the vehicle. The systems and methods receive perception data from a sensor system included in the vehicle, determine a focused Region Of Interest (ROI) in the perception data, scale the perception data of the at least one focused ROI, process the scaled perception data of the focused ROI using a neural network (NN)-based traffic object detection algorithm to provide traffic object detection data, and control at least one vehicle feature based, in part, on the traffic object detection data.

Abstract: A method of performing mass spectrometry includes accumulating, over an accumulation time, ions produced from components eluting from a chromatography column and transferring the accumulated ions to a mass analyzer. During an acquisition, a mass spectrum of detected ions derived from the transferred ions is acquired. An elution profile is obtained from a series of acquired mass spectra including the acquired mass spectrum and a plurality of previously-acquired mass spectra. The elution profile includes a plurality of detection points representing intensity of the detected ions as a function of time. A current signal state of the elution profile is classified based on a subset of detection points included in the plurality of detection points. The accumulation time for a next acquisition of a mass spectrum is set based on the classified current signal state of the elution profile.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for dynamically designing a custom product. The method is initiated using custom software, which permits user interaction via a graphical user interface. An HTML drawing element is provided in a display area of the graphical user interface, configured to display graphics drawn using a program executable by the computing device, the program comprising instructions to draw the custom product as a plurality of line segments. The program is executed to render the plurality of line segments, which are displayed as a first displayed version of the custom product in the display area. A length dimension value is received in an entry field of the display interface, to update one or more of the line segments. The program is re-executed to render the updated line segments, which are displayed as an updated displayed version of the custom product in the display area.

Abstract: A system of properly displaying chroma key content is presented. The system obtains a digital representation of a 3D environment, for example a digital photo, and gathers data from that digital representation. The system renders the digital representation in an environmental model and displays that digital representation upon an output device. Depending upon the context, content anchors of the environmental model are selected which will be altered by suitable chroma key content. The chroma key content takes into consideration the position and orientation of the chroma key content relative to the content anchor and relative to the point of view that the environmental model is displayed from in order to accurately display chroma key content in a realistic manner.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide for coupling a spinous process plate to one lateral side of a spinous process of a spine of a patient; coupling a laminar plate to a laminar on the one lateral side of the spinous process of the spine; engaging a sub-laminar hook to the laminar on the one lateral side of the spinous process; and (iv) extending a rod toward a pedicle on the one lateral side of the spinous process of the spine of the patient, where the rod prohibits movement of bone associated with a fracture in a pars interarticularis of a vertebral arch on the one lateral side of the spinous process of the spine.

A top support extends between the first support and the second support. The top support extends over an optical element and includes a surface adjacent to the optical element. The top support of the housing defines at least one opening extending above a portion of the optical element. The optical element is supported by the housing between the base, the first support, and the second support.

Abstract: Embodiments include strollers having removable seats. An example stroller may include rear wheels, front wheels, and a frame including a handle portion, a rear wheel support portion, a front wheel support portion and a folding mechanism connecting the front wheel support portion and the handle portion in both an unfolded configuration and in a folded configuration. The frame may include a stroller seat support portion positioned at a first vertical position adjacent the handle portion, and a front seat attachment configured for attachment to the front wheel support portion at a second vertical position substantially lower than the first vertical position. The front seat attachment may be configured to support the front stroller seat substantially over the front wheels so that a center of gravity of the stroller system is between the front wheels and the rear wheels.

Abstract: A plurality of different types of resource access events are identified. For example, a resource access event may be an administration event where a user is given certain access rights to view/modify a resource, such as, a database record. A plurality of blocks are generated, where each block is associated with an individual one of the plurality of different types of resource access events. The plurality of blocks are added to a first resource access blockchain. The blockchain can be used to track the various types of resource access events.

Abstract: An agricultural harvester includes a straw hood has a top wall and side walls. The walls define a hollow interior space for receiving straw or material other than grain from a threshing and separating system of the harvester and chaff from a cleaning system of the harvester. A drive system is at least partially positioned within the hollow interior space. The drive system is configured to drive a seed mill that is connected to the agricultural harvester.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of video surveillance, and more specifically to systems and methods for processing video data obtained from video cameras to track the movement of objects. The system for tracking the moving objects containing: memory; several video cameras; at least one data processing device configured to perform steps including: linking each video camera of the system to the terrain map; calibration of each video camera linked to the terrain map; receiving video data from each video camera calibrated and linked to the terrain map in real time; detecting at least one moving object in the frame of video data received from the first video camera; assigning a unique identification number (ID) to this object detected in the frame; analyzing the geometry of movement, followed by assessment of its direction of motion; predicting the second video camera, in the field of view of which the mentioned object may appear.

Abstract: Systems and methods of determining changes in an individual's interaction patterns indicative of changed circumstances are disclosed. An exemplary method can include receiving a first set of interaction records relating to an individual and creating an interaction profile based on the first set of interaction records. The method can also include monitoring a second set of more recent interaction records, comparing the second set of interaction records to the interaction profile to identify one or more changes to the interaction patterns identified in the first set of interaction records, analyzing the one or more changes to the interaction patterns to determine if the one or more changes is indicative of a changed circumstance for the individual, and generating recommendations for programs to be presented to the individual based on the changes to the interaction patterns identified in the first set of interaction records.

Abstract: A wireless device receives parameters indicating: a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) round trip time (RTT) timer of a multicast and broadcast service (MBS), and a feedback indicator indicating whether HARQ feedback is enabled. The wireless device receives a group common DCI scheduling a transport block (TB) of the MBS. In response to the feedback indicator indicating that HARQ feedback is enabled, the wireless device transmits a HARQ feedback with a negative value based on the TB being unsuccessfully decoded, starts the HARQ RTT timer after transmitting the HARQ feedback, and monitors, in response to the HARQ RTT timer expiring, a downlink control channel for a retransmission of the TB.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for creating and utilizing multidimensional embedding spaces for data objects, such as to condition the data for input to a neural network, for instance. Some embodiments are particularly directed to detecting data types for structured data based on learned metadata. In many embodiments, an embedding space for a set of data objects may be customized with a set of dimensions that correspond to various characteristics of the set of data objects. For example, a set of data objects may correspond to a table with each data object corresponding to a data entry in the table. In such examples, correlations between different columns and/or within a column of data may be identified and utilized as metadata to improve classifications by the neural network.

Abstract: Electrical connectors for very high speed signals, including signals at or above 112 Gbps. Effectiveness of shielding along the signal paths through the mating electrical connectors may be enhanced through the use of one or more techniques, including enabling two-sided shielding, connections between shield members and between shield members and grounded structures of printed circuit boards to which the connectors are mounted, and selective positioning of lossy material. Such techniques may be simply and reliably implemented in high density connector using one or more techniques. An electrical connector may include core members held by a housing together with leadframe assemblies attached to the core members. The core members may include features that would be difficult to mold in a housing and may include both shields and lossy materials in locations that would be difficult to incorporate in a leadframe assembly.

Abstract: A control device of a bicycle includes an actuator and a first controller. The first controller is configured to generate and transmit, from the first controller to a second controller of the bicycle, messages for a predetermined time period at a first transmission rate in response to activation of the actuator. The first controller is further configured to, after the predetermined period of time, generate and transmit, from the first controller to the second controller, one or more messages at a second transmission rate until the actuator is deactivated. The first transmission rate is greater than the second transmission rate, and each of the messages includes data identifying the activation of the actuator.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for multiplexed analysis of two or more targets in a test sample including a first set of particles including a first set of target-specific reagents and a first optically detectable identifier capable of emitting a first wavelength indicative of a first target, and at least one second set of particles including a second set of target-specific reagents and a second optically detectable identifier capable of emitting a second wavelength indicative of a second target; and at least one optically detectable reporter probe capable of constitutively emitting a third wavelength in response to reaction of the first set of target-specific reagents with the first target in the test sample and/or reaction of the second set of target-specific reagents with the second target in the test sample, wherein the first wavelength, the second wavelength, and the third wavelength are optically discernable from one another.
