The second layer is fixed relative to the first layer. The first layer includes a first top surface having a natural charge and a hydrophilic finish. The natural charge configured to attract solid debris, and the hydrophilic finish configured to activate when contacted by a liquid in order to release the solid debris. The first layer also includes a first bottom surface positioned opposite to the first top surface. The second layer includes a second top surface disposed facing the first bottom surface. The second top surface includes a hydrophobic laminate. A second bottom surface is disposed opposite of the second top surface. The hydrophobic laminate is configured to block liquid from reaching the second bottom surface.

Each heuristic of the set of heuristics has a ranking such that the recommended point corresponds to a location that satisfies at least one of the heuristics having a first rank and such that no other location satisfies any other heuristic of the set of heuristics having a higher rank than the first rank. The pre-stored map information identifying a plurality of pre-determined locations for the vehicle to stop, and the recommended point is one of the plurality of pre-determined locations.

A second magnet may be included, for example adjacent the gap, to provide a second set of magnetic field lines with shallower gradient for lower sensitivity. Movement of the sensor within the two magnetic fields may provide multiple wide-ranging sensitivities, such as “X” V/g as well as X/500 mV/g or X/5,000 mV/g.
