Abstract: A split hierarchy graphics processor system including a master node executing a virtual reality (VR) application responsive to input from a client device received over a network to generate primitives for in a VR environment. The graphics processor system including render nodes performing rendering based on the primitives for views into the VR environment taken from a location in the VR environment, the views corresponding to a grid map of the VR environment. Each of the render nodes renders, encodes and streams a corresponding sequence of frames of a corresponding view to the client device. The processor system including an asset library storing input geometries for the objects used for building the VR environment, wherein the objects in the asset library are accessible by the master node and the render nodes.
Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The method computer program products, and systems can include, for instance: obtaining virtual image data representing a virtual object; and encoding the virtual image data with physical image data to provide a formatted image file, wherein the encoding includes for a plurality of spatial image elements providing one or more data field that specifies physical image information and one or more data field that specifies virtual image information based on the virtual image data so the formatted image file for each of the plurality of spatial image elements provides physical image information and virtual image information, and wherein the encoding includes providing indexing data that associates an identifier for the virtual object to spatial image elements for the virtual object.

Abstract: Described are techniques for determining population structure from identity-by-descent (IBD) of individuals. The techniques may be used to predict that an individual belongs to zero, one or more of a number of communities identified within an IBD network. Additional data may be used to annotate the communities with birth location, surname, and ethnicity information. In turn, these data may be used to provide to an individual a prediction of membership to zero, one or more communities, accompanied by a summary of the information annotated to those communities. Ethnicity heterogeneity and age information may be tabulated and provided based on community membership information.

Abstract: In fabricating a semiconductor structure, a group IV substrate and a group III-V chiplet are provided. The group III-V chiplet is bonded to the group IV substrate, and patterned to produce a patterned group III-V device. A blanket dielectric layer is formed over the patterned group III-V device. Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling access to wireless gaming devices and networks are provided. For example, access is controlled through one or more levels of security checks, such as a hard security check instead of or in addition to a soft security check. In a hard security check, the user employs an apparatus such as a card or other physical token that can be used to access the wireless gaming device. Such an apparatus may communicate information that identifies the user to the device or may simply be used to produce a signal without which the device is locked to users.

Abstract: A downhole tool, such as a fracture plug used during a fracture operation, installs in a downhole tubular, such as casing. The tool has a mandrel with a sealing element disposed thereon between uphole and downhole ends. Slip assemblies on the mandrel can be moved to engage the downhole tubular. The slip assemblies have inserts. The inserts have a body defining an internal cavity at least partially therein. The body is composed of a ceramic material having a first density of about 3 g/cc to about 6 g/cc. A volume of the insert can be about 0.4 cc to about 0.6 cc, and a mass of the insert can be about 1.2 g to about 3.6 g. In one example, the ceramic material is silicon nitride. The cavity can be filled with a low density filler material.
Abstract: A system and method for providing automated service-based malware remediation. When a computing device is attacked by malware such as ransomware, multiple manual steps are usually needed to fully remediate the device. Users are typically required to follow several steps to remove the ransomware, and potentially must engage in the challenging task of reimaging the impacted device as well as choosing a restore point for point-in-time recovery. The disclosed systems provide a mechanism by which a cloud-based service manages a fully automated remediation and file recovery process for the user.

Abstract: A system for trimming fins on a downhole tool is disclosed. The system includes a jig that mounts to the shaft of the tool. A linear aperture is formed in the jig and has a closed end, an open end, and is sized to axially receive a single fin of the tool. A channel is located on an underside of the jig beneath the aperture. The channel has an inner radius of curvature. The inner radius of curvature is substantially similar to an outer radius of curvature of the shaft. The channel can form a friction lock on the exterior of the shaft and be removably attached to the shaft without fasteners. The channel is arcuate and has a selected arcuate span.
