  • Patent number: 11219112
Abstract: A luminaire network improves energy efficiency, reduces light pollution, improves the robustness of luminaire control, and reduces maintenance time and costs by implementing intelligent and selective lighting control. For example, the luminaire network may automatically control dimming, light activation, light deactivation, static or dynamic luminaire grouping, and luminaire group control by implementing a hybrid control scheme that accounts for (i) local or global fixed schedules (e.g., based on time of day, worker schedules, etc.), (ii) detected daylight, (iii) detected motion of workers, and (iv) feedback from luminaires in the luminaire network. Further, one or more electronic devices (e.g., mobile devices) may couple to the luminaire network and may facilitate easy monitoring, configuration, and manual control of luminaires in the luminaire network, even when remotely connected to the luminaire network (e.g., via the cloud).

  • Patent number: 11216503
Abstract: Implementations provide an improved system for presenting search results based on entity associations of the search items. An example method includes generating first-level clusters of items responsive to a query, each cluster representing an entity in a knowledge base and including items mapped to the entity, merging the first-level clusters based on entity ontology relationships, applying hierarchical clustering to the merged clusters, producing final clusters, and initiating display of the items according to the final clusters. Another example method includes generating first-level clusters from items responsive to a query, each cluster representing an entity in a knowledge base and including items mapped to the entity, producing final clusters by merging the first-level clusters based on an entity ontology and an embedding space that is generated from an embedding model that uses the mapping, and initiating display of the items responsive to the query according to the final clusters.

  • Patent number: 11216292
Abstract: Some implementations are directed to adapting a client application on a feature phone based on experiment parameters. Some of those implementations are directed to adapting an assistant client application, where the assistant client application interacts with remote assistant component(s) to provide automated assistant functionalities via the assistant client application of the feature phone. Some implementations are additionally or alternatively directed to determining whether an invocation, of an assistant client application on a feature phone, is a request for transcription of voice data received in conjunction with the invocation, or is instead a request for an assistant response that is responsive to the transcription of the voice data (e.g., includes assistant content that is based on and in addition to the transcription, and that optionally lacks the transcription itself).

  • Patent number: 11213213
Abstract: A combined optical coherent tomography (OCT) pressure sensor system includes an optical cable comprising a single-mode core and a multi-mode core. An OCT optical imaging sensor near a distal end of the optical cable can be inserted into a lumen of a living being. First light exiting a distal end of the single-mode core illuminates an interior of the lumen. The OCT optical imaging sensor acquires image information about the interior of the lumen and transmits an optical signal carrying the image information into the distal end of the single-mode core, toward a proximal end of the single-mode core. An optical pressure sensor attached near the OCT optical imaging sensor receives second light from the distal end of the optical cable, senses ambient pressure within the lumen and transmits an optical signal indicative of the ambient pressure into a distal end of the multi-mode core, toward a proximal end of the multi-mode core.

  • Patent number: 11213917
Abstract: A method of fusion welding two ferrous alloy component parts, at least one of which is considered unweldable, involves placing a low carbon steel band into a groove defined in part by each of the ferrous alloy component parts and then conveying a concentrated energy source along a welding line that overlaps the low carbon steel band to melt the steel band along with adjacent portions of the ferrous alloy component parts to form a blended alloy weld pool. The blended alloy weld pool solidifies behind the forward movement of the concentrated energy source into a weld joint that fusion welds the ferrous alloy component parts together. The ferrous alloy component parts may include a differential casing and a ring gear. In that regard, a differential casing and ring gear assembly that includes a weld joint is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11218565
Abstract: A primary virtual assistant and local virtual assistant herein can provide secondary information, including, without limitation, user-specific information, without having direct access to such information. For example, a user may invoke a secondary virtual assistant, through the local virtual assistant connected to a primary virtual assistant system. This invocation may be sent through the primary virtual assistant to the third party provider, i.e., the secondary virtual assistant. The secondary virtual assistant has access to the secondary information, for example, email, calendars, other types of information specifically associated with the user or learned from past user actions while this information is not directly available to the primary virtual assistant. This secondary information is then provided to the local virtual assistant in response to the invocation to be provided to the user.

  • Patent number: 11218469
Abstract: Systems and methods for management and configuration of personal digital privacy and security. A list of protected accounts is received, where each protected account is an online user account associated with a user. For each protected account of the list, a privacy configuration is generated, based at least in part on one or more user-specific privacy rules. A login session for the protected account is accessed, without transmitting or receiving the user's password for the protected account. Based on the accessed login session for the protected account, a plurality of current status indicators are determined for a plurality of privacy settings associated with the protected account. The current status indicators are analyzed to generate updated configuration settings for one or more of the privacy settings of the protected account, and the updated configuration settings are applied to the protected account.
