Abstract: A retractable curtain system is provided and includes a curtain support system, a curtain, and a retraction system. The curtain support system includes a pair of outer walls and an upper frame to provide a curtain receiving space. The curtain covers the curtain receiving space and includes a first non-transparent panel and transparent panel connected to the first non-transparent panel. The retraction system is connected to the curtain to lower and raise the transparent panel.

Abstract: A method for estimating human body temperature includes receiving, via a thermal camera, a thermal image captured of a real-world environment, the thermal image including thermal intensity values for each of a plurality of pixels of the thermal image. A position of a first human face is identified within the thermal image, the first human face corresponding to a first human subject. A skin tone of the first human face is identified. Based on the identified skin tone, a skin tone correction factor is applied to one or more thermal intensity values of one or more pixels corresponding to the first human face to give one or more tone-corrected thermal intensity values. Based on the one or more tone-corrected thermal intensity values an indication of a body temperature of the first human subject is reported.

Abstract: A portable sensing device may be deployed for determining at least one stability metric of a vessel. The sensing device may include one or more motion sensors for sensing motion of the vessel, one or more freeboard sensors for determining a freeboard of the vessel, and a computing system for processing motion data from the one or more motion sensors and freeboard data from the one or more freeboard sensors to determine the at least one stability metric. The computing system may be programmed to transform the motion data from time domain motion data to frequency domain motion data and process the frequency domain motion data to determine the at least one stability metric of the vessel and the freeboard of the vessel.

Abstract: A terminally sterilized medical procedure kit includes a recovered item and a new item packaged together as a single stock keeping unit. A method for processing at least a portion of a first medical procedure kit includes the steps of receiving a recoverable item of the first kit, performing a processing operation on the recoverable item, providing a new item, combining the recoverable item and the new item in a second kit, and terminally sterilizing the second kit. A method for recovering at least a portion of a terminally sterilized medical procedure kit includes the steps of purchasing a recoverable item of the first kit from an owner and receiving the recoverable item by the purchaser.

Abstract: Methods and systems for preparing acetone from cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) are disclosed. The disclosed methods involve cleaving CHP to form a cleavage product stream. In some embodiments, the cleavage product stream is separated into an overhead stream and a bottoms stream. The bottoms stream is neutralized, washed and then treated in a crude acetone column to provide a crude acetone stream. The overhead stream of the cleavage product is flashed forward in the process, bypassing the neutralization, washing, and crude acetone column and is then combined with the crude acetone stream. The combined acetone streams are provided to an acetone product column. According to some embodiments, the acetone product column comprises a side draw for obtaining a recycle acetone stream, which is recycled to the cleavage reactor(s). The recycle acetone side draw may be located lower on the acetone product column than the point from which product acetone is obtained.

Abstract: A navigation system for remote control movement of modular vehicle subassemblies (MVSs) through a plurality of assembly zones of a vehicle assembly facility includes a predefined primary pathway configured for the MVSs to move along during assembly of top hats on the MVSs, a plurality of sensors, a plurality of zone controllers, and a central management system with a navigation algorithm. The plurality of sensors are configured to transmit at least one of proximity data and visual data on the MVSs moving through the plurality of assembly zones to the plurality of zone controllers. The central management system is configured to be in communication with each of the plurality of zone controllers and the navigation algorithm is configured to receive the at least one of proximity data and visual data and calculate movement instructions for remote control movement of the MVSs moving through the plurality of assembly zones.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for network strengthening, such as by detecting issues with one or more network components and reconfiguring one or more upstream or downstream network components to preempt issues with the one or more upstream or downstream network components, for instance. Some embodiments are particularly directed to a tool (e.g., strengthening agent) that implements pre-scripted or dynamic hardening of up and downstream dependencies of a network component in response to an issue identified with the network component. In many embodiments, up and downstream components of a network component may be reconfigured while the issue with the network component is being addressed to preempt issues with the up and downstream components.

Abstract: The aerosol-generating device includes a housing, and a power supply configured to supply electrical power to a heating element by way of a transformer assembly within the housing. The transformer assembly includes a magnetic flux guide, a primary circuit including a primary winding extending around a first portion of the magnetic flux guide and electrically connected to the power supply, and a secondary circuit including a secondary winding inductively coupled to the primary winding and extending around a second portion of the magnetic flux guide. The number of turns in the primary winding is greater than the number of turns in the secondary winding. The drilling aperture may be bounded by a tapered sidewall. The jig may include alignment cams that include knobs that allow for adjusting the position of the jig relative to the door. A cabinet hole template may be provided. The jig may provide structure for quickly locating a depth stop relative to a drill bit. The jig may include drill bit guides for forming holes for fasteners relative to a main cup hole that may be formed using the jig.

Abstract: A method and tool system coaxially orients inner clutch plates with outer clutch plates on a tool. The tool includes a plurality of guide members circumferentially spaced apart, each guide member matingly engages a toothed portion of each inner clutch plate to position the inner clutch plates coaxially. A pre-build fixture includes a plurality of alignment pillars, at least one support block, and an alignment member. The alignment pillars are circumferentially spaced apart about a fixture axis. Each alignment pillar has a curved inner face that faces radially inward and has an arclength that is configured to coincide with and fit within a corresponding gap between radially outward facing teeth of each outer clutch plate. The support block supports the tool coaxially with the fixture. The alignment member engages the tool to inhibit rotation of the tool when the tool is supported coaxially with the fixture by the support block.

Abstract: A foldable stroller comprises a folding mechanism to assist in folding of the stroller. Such a folding mechanism may be used to convert a stroller from an in-use configuration to a storage configuration. More specifically, the stroller comprises a stroller folding assembly that biases the stroller from the in-use configuration to the storage configuration by the force of gravity exerted on the handle. The stroller folding assembly has linkages that drive folding of the front wheel assembly and rear wheel assembly in response to rotation of the handle into the storage configuration from the in-use configuration.

Abstract: A method of laser welding a first aluminum workpiece and a second aluminum workpiece arranged to form a lap joint includes forming a laser weld between the first aluminum workpiece and the second aluminum workpiece and forming a lap through weld joint using a weld speed equal to or greater than 10 meters per minute. The laser weld has less than 10% area fraction keyhole voids, for example, less than 5% area fraction keyhole voids and the lap through weld joint can have a flange length of less than 10 mm. The first aluminum workpiece can be an inner workpiece of a halo assembly of a vehicle door, the second aluminum workpiece can be a channel workpiece of the halo assembly and laser welding the inner workpiece to the channel workpiece forms the halo assembly without the use of mechanical fasteners, thereby decreasing weight and costs of the halo assembly.
