Abstract: An ice maker includes an ice making unit comprising an evaporator connected to a refrigeration system, an ice holding bin, a sump, a pump, a drain valve, an ozonated water source, and a controller. The controller activates the ozonated water source supplying a first volume of ozonated water to the sump, thereafter activates the pump to circulate the first volume of ozonated water from the sump to the ice making unit, once a predetermined sterilization time has been reached, the controller turns off the pump and drains the first volume of ozonated water from the sump. The controller initiates an ice making mode, and activates the ozonated water source to supply a second volume of ozonated water to the sump, thereafter activates the pump to circulate the second volume of ozonated water from the sump to the ice making unit forming ozonated ice on the evaporator, and initiates an ice harvest mode to remove the ozonated ice from the evaporator and delivers it to the ice holding bin.

Abstract: This invention, in one aspect, relates generally to compositions and methods for modulating cellular activities by synthetic opsins. Further, the invention provides method for the use of synthetic opsins for vision restoration and other applications, wherein the amino acid sequence of the synthetic opsin is modified to provide enhanced light sensitivity, kinetics and ion-selectivity.
Abstract: The strength of a proppant or sand control particulate may be improved by coating the proppant to form a composite. The composite has enhanced compressive strength between about 34 to about 130 MPa and minimizes the spelling of fines at closure stresses in excess of 5,000 psi. Conductivity of fractures is further enhanced by forming a pack of the composites in the fracture.

Abstract: A method for deploying a trough structure. The methods comprise: causing a first telescoping segment to move in a first direction away from a proximal end of a telescoping boom; and transiting a flexible element from an untensioned state to a tensioned state as the first telescoping segment is moved in the first direction. The flexible element is coupled to a distal end of the first telescoping segment by a first bulkhead and is coupled to a distal end of a second telescoping segment by a second bulkhead. The first telescoping segment is coupled to the second telescoping segment of the boom when the first telescoping segment reaches an extended position. The flexible element has a parabolic trough shape when in the tensioned state.

Abstract: A device operative to transfer power wirelessly includes a drive-sense circuit (DSC), memory that stores operational instructions, and processing module(s). The DSC generates a drive signal based on a reference signal and provides the drive signal to a first coil via a single line and via a resonating capacitor, and simultaneously senses the drive signal via the single line, to facilitate electromagnetic coupling to a second coil to transfer power wirelessly to another device. The DSC also detects electrical characteristic(s) of the drive signal. The processing module(s) generates the reference signal and processes the digital signal to determine the electrical characteristic(s) of the drive signal. In some examples, the processing module(s) adapts the reference signal based on detection of the other device (e.g., based on interpreting the electrical characteristic(s) of the drive signal).

Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract: An apparatus includes processing circuitry that obtains motion information of a group of blocks in a picture from a coded video bitstream, the motion information indicating base motion vectors for the group of blocks, and the base motion vectors pointing to a reference picture in a prediction list. The processing circuitry determines a range of target motion vectors for the group of blocks along a particular coordinate direction according to the base motion vectors and a target difference, where, for any two motion vectors within the range, a difference of integer-pixel parts thereof along the particular coordinate direction is equal to or less than the target difference. The processing circuitry further converts the base motion vectors into the target motion vectors according to the range for reconstructing samples of the group of blocks.
Abstract: Described in detail herein is an automated fulfilment system including a computing system programmed to receive requests from disparate sources for physical objects disposed at one or more locations in a facility. The computing system can combine the requests, and group the physical objects in the requests based on object types or expected object locations. Autonomous robot devices can receive instructions from the computing system to retrieve a group of the physical objects and deposit the physical objects in storage containers.
