Abstract: This disclosure provides a wagering system associated with a first wagering facility, the system communicably coupled with a network and including a memory operable to store betting odds on a plurality of wagering events hosted by the first wagering facility. The system further includes a processor coupled to the memory and operable to receive a first bet on a particular event via the network, the particular event comprising at least one of the wagering events hosted by the first wagering facility. If a second bet is received within a predetermined period of time after the first bet is received, then the processor recalculates the betting odds on the particular event based upon both of the first bet and the second bet. If a second bet is not received within a predetermined period of time after the first bet is received, then the processor recalculates the betting odds on the particular event based upon the first bet.
Abstract: Systems and methods for securing limited drivability of a vehicle by impaired drivers using blockchain are provided. The vehicle system uses blockchain to protect and disclose such vehicle deactivation, prevent false enabling/disabling of a vehicle, and saves this information to a shared ledger. A sensor system located on the vehicle, e.g., alcohol interlock sensors, interior sensors, and exterior sensors, may have access to this information along with fleet managers, OEM, and/or users. For example, when the alcohol interlock sensor is activated, it transmits a test request. Subsequently, the other sensors may identify the request and look for a known person inside or in the proximity of the vehicle. In a similar manner, whether the test has been conducted, as well as the results of the test may be verified by the other nodes, e.g., sensors/modules in the vehicle. Upon confirmation that the driver is impaired, the vehicle may be deactivated.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to devices and methods for determining the density of insulation. For example, one aspect of the disclosure is a device that includes a sound generator and one or more sound sensors configured to detect sound that is generated by the sound generator and transmitted through the insulation to the one or more sound sensors. The device also includes a control system configured to cause the sound generator to generate the sound and use the sound detected by the one or more sound sensors to generate output that represents the density of the insulation. Another aspect of the disclosure is a method for using the device to determine the density of insulation.

Abstract: A motor vehicle and construction method for a motor vehicle, such as a bus, wherein fabricated subassemblies or modules are joined using mechanical fasteners to form an integrated, load carrying structure. The fabricated subassemblies are configured to allow substitution of subassemblies with alternative configurations in order to produce a number of unique vehicle configurations each sharing a common architecture. Modular construction techniques allow for simplification of construction processes, reduction of welding processes, and the application of physically smaller subassemblies. Interchange and substitution of subassemblies with shared attributes may also facilitate production of vehicles having different characteristics.

Abstract: A first computing device may receive an indication of user input that is at least a part of a conversation between a user and a first assistant executing at the first computing device. The first assistant and/or an assistant executing at a digital assistant system may determine whether to handoff the conversation from the first assistant executing at the first computing device to a second assistant executing at a second computing device. In response to determining to handoff the conversation to the second assistant executing at the second computing device, the first assistant and/or the assistant executing at the digital assistant system may send to the second computing device a request to handoff the conversation which includes at least an indication of the conversation.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a light source arrangement supporting direct coupling to a photonically enabled complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) chip are disclosed. The arrangement may include a laser, a microlens, a turning mirror, reciprocal and/or non-reciprocal polarization rotators, and an optical bench. The laser may generate an optical signal that may be focused utilizing the microlens. The optical signal may be reflected at an angle defined by the turning mirror, and may be transmitted out of the light source arrangement to one or more grating couplers in the chip. The laser may include a feedback insensitive laser. The light source arrangement may include two electro-thermal interfaces between the optical bench, the laser, and a lid affixed to the optical bench. The turning mirror may be integrated in a lid affixed to the optical bench or may be integrated in the optical bench.

Abstract: A system of generating an aerosol, by: (a) placing a liquid into a liquid chamber in an ultrasonic nebulization system having a cylindrical aerosol production chamber received within a cylindrical master chamber, and having top and bottom ultrasonic transducers; (b) passing air up through the aerosol production chamber; and (c) producing acoustic standing waves above the surface of the liquid with the top and bottom ultrasonic transducers, thereby generating an aerosol of the liquid by action of the standing waves.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for processing point cloud data using dynamic voxelization. When deployed within an on-board system of a vehicle, processing the point cloud data using dynamic voxelization can be used to make autonomous driving decisions for the vehicle with enhanced accuracy, for example by combining representations of point cloud data characterizing a scene from multiple views of the scene.
Abstract: A wireless device receives a first downlink control information. The downlink control information indicates an activation of a configured uplink grant Type 2 of a cell. The wireless device transmits transport blocks based on the configured uplink grant Type 2. The wireless device transitions the cell to a dormancy in response to receiving a second downlink control information. The wireless device clears the configured uplink grant Type 2 associated with the cell in response to the transitioning the cell to the dormancy.

Abstract: A transportation mobility system includes a data storage configured to maintain vehicle data indicating fuel consumption and count of passengers for vehicles of a transportation system, and user data describing movements of the passengers within the transportation system. The system also includes an emissions monitoring portal, programmed to provide, for vehicles of a fleet, estimates of pollutant emissions for the fleet and a percent share of miles completed by zero-emissions transportation for the fleet.
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to techniques for managing contact information received in the context of a messaging system. Messages may be received from known contacts which contain user contact records for third parties. Based on the trust relationship with the known contacts, the user contact record is placed in a contact record repository for later retrieval. When another message is received which either references the user contact record or is from the third party referenced in the user contact record, a dialog box is presented offering the user the opportunity to add the user contact record as an address entry in the address book of the device.

Abstract: An article packaging machine and method or turning article packs, the article packaging machine having a turner station for turning article packs moving though the packaging machine. The packaging machine includes a main conveyor extending longitudinally from an upstream end to a downstream end and through the turning station. Article packs are carried by the main conveyor spaced and sequentially in the downstream direction through the turner station. The turner station includes flight drive assembly having multiple flight assemblies. The flight assemblies are driven above upper cam plates in the upstream direction, and below lower cam plates in the downstream direction. The flight assemblies include turner rods that are moved toward the main conveyor to contact the article pack in at least two points. The turner rods progressively move toward the main conveyor center line until the distal ends of the turner rods are moved past the article pack side walls and the pack is turned 90 degrees.
