Abstract: Systems and processes are provided for managing epidemic and pandemic disease populations by individually scanning persons in a pre-selected retention space, to identify persons having body temperatures in excess of a predetermined level. Such persons are prompted to register, and are instructed to self-quarantine at the address provided during the registration process. The location of the registered person subsequently is tracked to ensure that the person remains at the registered location during the quarantine period. The registration information can be provided to health and law enforcement authorities to help control the spread of the disease population.
Abstract: The present invention is a device for installing and removing partially obstructed, upward-facing lightbulbs. It is comprised of a gripping element, a weight, a flexible rotary shaft having two ends, and an extension pole having two ends. The gripping element, itself, is comprised of a hollow, three-dimensional gripping element body having an inner and outer surface and a plurality of flexible, tactile members. The hollow, three-dimensional gripping element body is open at one end and closed at the other. At the open end, the plurality of flexible, tactile members are arranged about a peripheral rim at the opening. When the device is placed over a lightbulb, the flexible, tactile members capture the lightbulb. Rotating the extension pole will cause the lightbulb to rotate.
Abstract: A hydraulic arrangement for distributing a fluid in pressure coming from a source among multiple hydraulic units of a work vehicle. At least one of the hydraulic units provides an electronic load sensing signal and of the hydraulic units provides a hydraulic load sensing signal. The hydraulic arrangement includes a priority valve configured to divide the flow of fluid between the hydraulic units. The priority valve and source are hydraulically controlled by a first hydraulic load sensing signal resulting as the greatest of a plurality of hydraulic load pressure signals taken from the hydraulic unit. The hydraulic arrangement also includes a conversion unit configured to transform an electronic load sensing signal of at least one of the hydraulic units in an equivalent hydraulic load sensing signal so as to define the first hydraulic load sensing signal.

Abstract: To visualize planned behavior of an autonomous vehicle (AV) traveling along a roadway, a user interface engine receives data describing a planned pathway of the AV along the roadway and object data describing an object having a predicted pathway crossing the planned pathway of the AV at a cross point. The user interface engine classifies the object either an asserting object or a yielding object based on a prediction of whether the object reaches the cross point before the AV or after the AV. The user interface engine generates an image that includes the planned pathway of the AV and the object in the environment of the AV. The image of the object indicates whether the object is classified as an asserting object or a yielding object.

Abstract: A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for coding video data. Video data including one or more subpictures is received. A number of the subpictures and a delta value between the number of subpictures and a number of rectangular slices are signaled. The number of rectangular slices is derived based on the number of subpictures and the delta value.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video processing. In some examples, an apparatus for video processing includes processing circuitry. For example, processing circuitry determines a frame interval for a current block in a current frame within a sequence of frames. The frame interval indicates a group of frames in the sequence of frames with collocated blocks of the current block that satisfy an error metric requirement comparing to the current block. Further, the processing circuitry determines a replacement block based on the collocated blocks in the group of frames, and replaces the current block in the current frame with the replacement block.
Abstract: A method for execution by a temporary ingress storage system includes receiving a set of records to be processed for long-term storage. The set of records are temporarily stored in a set of memory resources of the temporary ingress storage system during a first temporal period. Execution of a query is facilitated by accessing a subset of the set of records from at least one memory resource of the set of memory resources during the first temporal period. The set of records are processed to generate a set of segments for long-term storage. Migration of the set of records from the temporary ingress storage system to a long-term storage system for during a second temporal period that begins after the first temporal period has elapsed by sending the set of records to the long-term storage system.

Abstract: Nuclear propulsion fission reactor structure has an active core region including fuel element structures, a reflector with rotatable neutron absorber structures (such as drum absorbers), and a core former conformal mating the outer surface of the fuel element structures to the reflector. Fuel element structures are arranged abutting nearest neighbor fuel element structures in a tri-pitch design. Cladding bodies defining coolant channels are inserted into and joined to upper and lower core plates to from a continuous structure that is a first portion of the containment structure. The nuclear propulsion fission reactor structure can be incorporated into a nuclear thermal propulsion engine for propulsion applications, such as space propulsion.

Abstract: A child proof container includes an outer shell defining an opening. An internal cartridge defines first and second storage cavities. The internal cartridge is slidable within the outer shell between an inserted position and a withdrawn position. A first cover is hingedly attached to the internal cartridge by a first hinge. The first cover pivots about the first hinge between a closed position for covering the first storage cavity and an open position for providing access to the first storage cavity. The first cover is attached to the internal cartridge such that the first cover cannot pivot to the open position until the internal cartridge is in the withdrawn position.
Abstract: A light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system may include a laser and a plurality of single photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) that are triggered by laser light that reflects off a target scene. The LIDAR system may be operated in a global shutter mode, so each of the SPADs may include its own time-to-digital conversion circuitry. To reduce the area required to implement the circuitry for each diode, the circuitry may be operated using cyclic histogramming, in which a first bit of a time-of-flight value may be determined using a first time period that corresponds to the emission of the laser light and the detection by the SPADs, a second bit of the time-of-flight value may be determined using a second time period that is half of the first time period, etc. In this way, the circuitry may accurately determine the signal peak while requiring less area and memory requirements.

Abstract: Various embodiments can implement a multi-system or node architecture that can be deployed on-demand and augment existing systems with pre-configured nodes that can be installed within existing architecture. The multi-node architecture is flexible for integration into many systems and can also stand alone to provide data validation and assurance. Various embodiments of the multi-node architecture enable private and public distributed ledgers (e.g., blockchains) that enhance security, enhance confidentiality, and eliminate the need to trust the provider/hosts of the data validation information and/or the hosts of the confidential information.
