    Abstract: The disclosure describes an antimicrobial protection device using antibacterial and virucidal electromagnetic energy to provide protection. Electromagnetic energy may be supplied by light source(s) such as LED(s). Lighting apparatus may be configured to project electromagnetic energy in an energy barrier over an individual or portion thereof, such as the individual's airways and eyes. Light source(s) may be constructed or configured to emit electromagnetic energy in wavelengths at about 405 nm and/or between about 200 nm to about 220 nm. Lighting apparatus may be configured in a ring and may be mounted above the user's head such that the lighting apparatus projects a bactericidal and/or virucidal curtain of light around the user's head, killing or inactivating microbes before reaching the user's eyes, nose, or mouth.     Abstract: Example embodiments described in this disclosure are generally directed to a mounting bracket for deployment in a vehicle. In one embodiment, a multilayer mounting bracket includes a first layer made of a dual-conductive polymer and a second layer made of a polymer that includes an endothermic blowing agent. The dual-conductive polymer includes carbon material that renders the first layer electrically conductive and also includes graphite material that renders the first layer thermally conductive. The endothermic blowing agent renders the second layer thermally insulative. An electronic module such as an engine controller can be mounted upon the first layer, which operates as a heat sink to dissipate heat generated by the electronic module and also operates as an electromagnetic interference (EMI) shield. The second layer prevents heat from being transferred from the first layer into another electronic module that may be mounted upon the mounting bracket.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus allow a mobile device to proactively switch to a new network by using quality of connection information and the rate of change of the received signal strength indication (RSSI) to proactively switch from a first network, such as a WiFi network, to the new network, such as another WiFi network or a cellular network. For example, the mobile device determines a rate of change of the RSSI for the first network. Based on the rate of change of the RSSI, the mobile device predicts when the RSSI of the network is beyond a quality threshold. Based on the prediction, the mobile device switches from the first network to a second network. In another example, the method and device uses a quality of connection of the first network connection to determine when to switch from a first network connection to a second network connection.

The standard TRRS audio jack is one such input that has and remains common, primarily because it is the accepted standard for audio input; namely, headphones and earpieces for listening purposes. Embodiments herein describe an intelligent switch to that audio jack that permits for additional backward and forward compatibility. It transparently allows a user to insert analog or digital audio devices, such as earphones, without the need to manually reconfigure device settings. The device herein automatically converts between input connector types using the same input convention present on their existing mobile devices. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A correction module of the computing device may determine a color correction used to improve content captured by a camera utilizing, in part, a sensor (e.g., a camera, ambient light sensor, and so forth) positioned underneath the display. The sensor may detect ambient light over time that is modified as it travels through the display, producing color distortions. The sensor may also detect a composite light over time that includes calibration light emitted by the display and ambient light. The correction module may compare the ambient light and composite light to determine the color correction usable to improve both the content captured by the camera and a user experience.
