Publication number: 20210228882Abstract: An apparatus, system and technique selectively eliminates the noxious signal components in a neuronal signal by creating an interfering electrical signal that is tuned to a given frequency corresponding to the oscillatory pattern of the noxious signal, resulting in a modified neuronal signal that substantially reproduces a normal, no-pain neuronal signal. The disclosed system and technique of pain relief is based on the hypothesis that the temporal profile of pain signals encodes particular components that oscillate at unique and quantifiable frequencies, which are responsible for pain processing in the brain.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2021Publication date: July 29, 2021Applicant: Lumbrera LLCInventors: Ricardo Vallejo, David Leonardo Cedeno, William J. Publication number: 20210228957Abstract: A training apparatus for baseball training includes a base and training attachments that may be attached to the base to allow a user to practice a variety of training techniques. The base may be modular so that it has an adjustable width and disassembles into separate components. At least one training attachment is designed to train a batter to properly incorporate thrust into a swinging motion when swinging a baseball bat. The attachment has a pivotally mounted member with a contact element attached to the top end of the member. The member pivots forward and downward when the user's knee contacts the contact element when properly executing a swinging motion. Thus, the training attachment provides direct and immediate feedback to the user regarding the user's batting form. Other training attachments may be used for hitting balls and for pitching to targets strategically placed around a strike zone.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2020Publication date: July 29, 2021Applicant: Sports Innovations, LLCInventor: Jason Reed

Publication number: 20210232890Abstract: Deep neural networks (DNN) model quantization may be used to reduce storage and computation burdens by decreasing the bit width. Presented herein are novel cursor-based adaptive quantization embodiments. In embodiments, a multiple bits quantization mechanism is formulated as a differentiable architecture search (DAS) process with a continuous cursor that represents a possible quantization bit. In embodiments, the cursor-based DAS adaptively searches for a quantization bit for each layer. The DAS process may be accelerated via an alternative approximate optimization process, which is designed for mixed quantization scheme of a DNN model. In embodiments, a new loss function is used in the search process to simultaneously optimize accuracy and parameter size of the model. In a quantization step, the closest two integers to the cursor may be adopted as the bits to quantize the DNN together to reduce the quantization noise and avoid the local convergence problem.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 24, 2019Publication date: July 29, 2021Applicants: Baidu USA LLC, Baidu.com Times Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.Inventors: Baopu LI, Yanwen FAN, Zhiyu CHENG, Yingze BAO

Publication number: 20210235076Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. An apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry that decodes prediction information for a current block in a current coded picture. The prediction information indicates an intra block copy (IBC) prediction mode used for the current block, an index to select a block vector predictor candidate from a block vector predictor candidate list for the current block, and whether a non-zero residue exists for the current block. The processing circuitry constructs the block vector predictor candidate list for the current block in a same sequence of candidates, no matter whether the no-zero residue exists for the current block. The processing circuitry selects a block vector predictor candidate from the constructed block vector predictor candidate list based on the index indicated in the prediction information and reconstructs the current block according to the selected block vector predictor candidate.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2021Publication date: July 29, 2021Applicant: TENCENT AMERICA LLCInventors: Xiaozhong XU, Shan LIU, Xiang LI
