  • Patent number: 11010682
Abstract: A Probabilistic Quantum Circuit with Fallback (PQFs) is composed as a series of circuit stages that are selected to implement a target unitary. A final stage is conditioned on unsuccessful results of all the preceding stages as indicated by measurement of one or more ancillary qubits. This final stage executes a fallback circuit that enforces deterministic execution of the target unitary at a relatively high cost (mitigated by very low probability of the fallback). Specific instances of general PQF synthesis method and are disclosed with reference to the specific Clifford+T, Clifford+V and Clifford+?/12 bases. The resulting circuits have expected cost in logb(1/?)+O(log(log(1/?)))+const wherein b is specific to each basis. The three specific instances of the synthesis have polynomial compilation time guarantees.

  • Patent number: 11012686
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. An apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry that decodes prediction information for a current block in a current coded picture. The prediction information indicates an intra block copy (IBC) prediction mode used for the current block, an index to select a block vector predictor candidate from a block vector predictor candidate list for the current block, and whether a non-zero residue exists for the current block. The processing circuitry constructs the block vector predictor candidate list for the current block in a same sequence of candidates, no matter whether the no-zero residue exists for the current block. The processing circuitry selects a block vector predictor candidate from the constructed block vector predictor candidate list based on the index indicated in the prediction information and reconstructs the current block according to the selected block vector predictor candidate.

  • Patent number: 11012920
Abstract: An access point that implements operating modes in which beacons may be selectively disabled. Beacons may be disabled when no device is actively associated through the access point. Beacons may be enabled in response to one or more triggers, which may include events such as a client forming an association through the access point following a probe request message identifying the access point. In addition, active beaconing may be triggered by user input or may occur during periodic brief intervals that allow client devices to discover the network identifier for the access point. Selective control of beaconing may lead to more effective wireless communication, particularly in areas where users congregate with computers implementing soft APs for personal networks.

Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) device includes a semiconductor layer and one or more portions of a wafer on which the semiconductor layer was formed, the other portions of the wafer having been removed by an etching process. The semiconductor layer has a front surface that includes a light emitting area. The remnants of the wafer on which the semiconductor layer are disposed on the front surface of the semiconductor layer and define a trench. The trench is positioned such that the light emitting area emits light into the trench. The remnants of the wafer make the LED device more robust and the trench may reduce crosstalk with adjacent LED devices.

  • Patent number: 11011768
Abstract: A fuel cell power controller tracks load current and fuel cell output voltage, and alerts on excessive fuel cell ramp rate, so another power source can supplement the fuel cell and/or the load can be reduced. A power engineering process makes efficient use of available fuel cell power by ramping up power flow rapidly when power is available, while respecting the ramp rate and other power limitations of the fuel cell and safety limitations of the load. Power flow decreases after an alert indicating an electrical output limitation of the fuel cell. Permitted power flow increases in response to a power demand increase (actual or requested) from the load in the absence of the alert. Power flow may increase or decrease in a fixed amount, a proportional amount, or per a sequence. A power controller relay may trip open on a low fuel cell output voltage or high load current.
