Abstract: The disclosure describes devices and methods for starting up a microphone assembly. The device may be implemented on an integrated circuit that includes a direct current (DC) bias circuit. The DC bias circuit may be coupled to a transducer and configured to supply a DC bias signal to the transducer. The DC bias circuit includes a multi-stage charge pump and a low pass filter (LPF) circuit. The LPF circuit includes an adjustable resistance and a capacitor. A resistance of the adjustable resistance may be reduced to reduce the settling time of the LPF while starting (e.g., turning on) the microphone assembly.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a system and a method. The system and the method generate, via a deep neural network, a first synthetic image based on a simulated image, generate a segmentation mask based on the synthetic image, compare the segmentation mask with a ground truth mask of the synthetic image, update the deep neural network based on the comparison, and generate, via the updated deep neural network, a second synthetic image based on the simulated image.

Abstract: A leash attachment and method for using the leash attachment are provided. The leash attachment has a built-in flip open cup that allows an animal to drink from the flip open cup once liquid is expelled to the distal end of the cup via a nozzle. Unused liquid from the flip open cup drains back via a funnel into the leash attachment by way of a fill hole. The leash attachment attaches to a leash via a rolling cam with ridges on the cam's outer surface.

Abstract: A surgical apparatus and methods for severing and welding tissue, in particular blood vessels. The apparatus includes an elongated shaft having a pair of relatively movable jaws at a distal end thereof. A first heating element on one of the jaws is adapted to heat up to a first temperature and form a welded region within the tissue, while a second heating element on one of the jaws is adapted to heat up to a second temperature and sever the tissue within the welded region. The first and second heating elements may be provided on the same or opposite jaws. A control handle provided on the proximal end of the elongated shaft includes controls for opening and closing the jaws, and may include an actuator for sending current through the first and second heating elements. The first and second heating elements may be electrically connected in series, and the first heating element may be bifurcated such that it conducts about one half of the current as the second heating element.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. The system obtains, based on parameters of a search by an entity, a first set of scores representing significances of a set of attributes as qualifications for an opportunity. Next, the system generates a ranking of candidates for the opportunity based on the first set of scores and additional sets of scores representing confidences in possession of the attributes by the candidates. The system outputs the ranking as results of the search during a session with the entity. The system updates the first set of scores based on one or more actions by the entity on one or more candidates in the outputted ranking and one or more additional sets of scores for the candidate(s). Finally, the system updates the outputted ranking based on the updated first set of scores and the additional sets of scores during the session.

Abstract: A device for conducting a transaction by generating and displaying QR codes in the infrared spectrum, by generating a first QR code; displaying the first QR code via the infrared array for a predetermined duration of time; receiving a confirmation that a user device has entered paired state with the transaction device based on the user device scanning the first QR code; receiving authentication data indicating that the paired user device is authorized to complete the transaction; completing the transaction.

Abstract: An implantable modular plate system for stabilizing adjacent vertebral bodies in a cervical spine includes at least two plate segments aligned or connected together so as to form a connection at and along adjacent ends. At least one of the plate segments includes a flange at an engagement end and at least one of the plate segments including a flange recess at an engagement end, the flange being configured for overlay engagement with the flange recess when the at least two plate segments are engaged. The plate segments are pivotable out of plane with one another at a common axis of rotation traversing overlapping portions of the adjacent ends and are constrained from rotation by the flanges such that the rotation of each plate segment is limited to up to 90 degrees of rotation away from the contact surfaces of the flange and flange recess.

Abstract: A system and method for taking video of sports plays or various actions, recognizing pertinent objects, assigning diagrams to the recognized objects, and creating a dynamic diagram for analysis. The created diagram is useful for sports analytics and breaking down various sports plays. The created dynamic diagrams can be played back without the distractions of the original video. The motions and variable routes of the players and balls are tracked for analysis and prediction statistics.

Abstract: A system and a method for pairing sports predictions in real-time or near-real-time. The method includes receiving a plurality of sports predictions submitted by a plurality of independent participants; pairing pairs of participants of the plurality of independent participants based on their respective sports predictions, wherein only one prediction of each pair of participants is true; monitoring data sources providing information on the sports predictions; and determining which prediction of each of the paired participants is true.

Abstract: An edge detection system is disclosed. The edge detection system includes an imaging device configured for imaging a pattern structure to form a first image, wherein the pattern structure includes a predetermined feature, and the imaging device images the pattern structure to generate measured linescan information that includes image noise.

Abstract: In various embodiments, before a data subject request can be processed, the data subject's identity may need to be verified. In various embodiments, the system provides a mechanism to automatically detect the type of authentication required for a particular data subject based on the type of Data Subject Access Request being made and automatically issues a request to the data subject to verify their identity against that form of identification. For example, a subject rights request might only require two types of authentication, but a deletion request may require four types of data to verify authentication. The system may automatically detect which is type of authentication is required based on the DSAR and send an appropriate request to the data subject to verify their identity.

Abstract: A banking pipeline for processing various transactions for multiple financial instruments is disclosed herein. The pipeline may have three distinct interpreters, a transaction interpreter, a rollup interpreter, and a rules interpreter. Different aspects of the transaction may be performed on separate interpreters and each interpreter may perform its aspect of the transaction before the next interpreter begins.

Abstract: Near-real-time monitoring and analysis of a road segment are described, and include a remotely-located controller that is arranged to wirelessly communicate with a plurality of connected vehicles. This includes periodically capturing vehicle positional data and associated temporal data that are communicated from a subset of the connected vehicles, wherein the subset of the connected vehicles traverse a road segment associated with the digitized roadway map. Vehicle positional data and the associated temporal data are analyzed over a period of time, including evaluating the vehicle positional data in context of the digitized roadway map. Occurrence of an anomalous traffic pattern for the road segment can be detected based upon the evaluating of the vehicle positional data in context of the digitized roadway map and the associated temporal data. A control action is executed based upon detection of the occurrence of the anomalous traffic pattern for the road segment.

Abstract: An automatic washer for continuous positive airway pressure equipment has a housing defining a wash chamber having an open face providing access to the wash chamber, a door selectively closing the open face, a dual eccentric nozzle protruding into the wash chamber, a rack slidingly receivable within the wash chamber, and a spray nozzle in the bottom surface of the wash chamber. The rack has a hose clamp oriented to secure an end of a CPAP hose when seated in the rack with an open end of the CPAP hose facing the dual eccentric nozzle. The dual eccentric nozzle has an air conduit that introduces air during a drying cycle and a water conduit that introduces water during a rinse cycle, and when the rack is fully inserted in the wash chamber, the dual eccentric nozzle is received inside the hose clamp, thereby, inside the CPAP hose when present.

Abstract: A method and protocol for triple-blind identity mapping that sufficiently address the need to reduce accidental or nefarious attempts to re-identify the underlying identities pseudonymized by current hashing methods are disclosed. The system abates the privacy exposure risk derived from the simple exchange of hashed information, because the referenced actors do not come into possession of the input values required to produce a repeatable function.

Abstract: An orthopaedic fixation assembly for prosthetic biologic attachment. The orthopaedic fixation assembly may include a main body with a longitudinally-extending stem having a proximal end, a distal end, and a cavity body. An anchor plug may be configured to be received within the stem cavity, and securable thereto via complementary mating surfaces. A spindle structure may be fixedly attached to the proximal end of the longitudinally-extending stem and protrude outwardly therefrom such that a portion of the structure extends externally beyond the resected cavity of the bone that may prevent rotational motion of the spindle. The spindle structure may have at least one compliant biasing member configured to apply a compressive force to the surrounding bone. A porous coating may be at the juncture between stem and spindle structure, on the spindle, and the splines and anti-rotation chocks, improving the initial stability of the implant and facilitating long-term bone ingrowth.
