    Abstract: A medical device comprising a hollow probe, ultrasound generation means and suction monitoring means, wherein, in use, suction is applied through the hollow probe and the ultrasound generation means is adjusted in response to a suction flow rate detected by the suction monitoring means. The medical device may also comprise a temperature sensor, in which case the ultrasound generation means is adjusted in response to the temperature detected by the sensor. The medical device may also comprises at least one chuck for reversibly fixing the probe to the body of the device. The medical device may also comprise an integration unit, the body of the device being connected to the integration unit and the integration unit comprising a docking station for at least one battery and means to monitor the operation of the device. Use of the medical device is also claimed.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a device for positioning a guiding tube (1) for a nephroscope, said tube consisting of a long aspiration needle (2) which is provided with a closing mandrin (3) and on which an inflatable enlargement device (4) slides, said device especially comprising a cuff (25) which is positioned by sliding along the aspiration needle (2) that is previously inserted into the kidney of the patient. The operation is facilitated by a trocar consisting of cutting blades (19) which enlarge the opening without tearing any flesh. The cuff is then inflated so that the inflatable enlargement device (4) can be used as a guiding means for a guiding tube for a nephroscope during the positioning thereof in the kidney of the patient.

The shock waves are transmitted by a shock wave transfer device to an object for destruction with which the shock wave transfer device is in direct or indirect contact. The striking device is displaced by way of the expansion of a high-pressure gas introduced prior to each shock wave generation into an accumulation device. The accumulation device is supplied with high pressure gas from independent gas stores and with supply and sealing devices. The stored gas is released by the manual manipulation of a control device which connects the accumulation device to the striking device.
