Abstract: A gaming machine includes a display device and game-logic circuitry that causes the display device to: present cycle outcomes by populating a symbol array with randomly selected symbols; lock any trigger symbols from the randomly selected symbols in the symbol array; present a subset counter for an array subset with locked trigger symbols; in response to a modifier event associated with a first trigger symbol locked within the subset, present a first award value associated with the first trigger symbol; in response to a number of trigger symbols within the subset meeting a trigger amount, provide an award at least partially as a function of the first award value; and in response to the subset counter meeting a termination count, remove any locked trigger symbols from the subset.

Abstract: A gaming system and method utilize an electronic display device configured to display a plurality of symbol-bearing reels and an array of symbol positions. The array of symbol positions comprises a plurality of rows and columns. The plurality of symbol-bearing reels are spun and stopped to land symbols on the reels in the symbol positions of the array. Payouts are awarded for any winning symbol combinations along horizontal and vertical ways. In response to a triggering event, the array is expanded by expanding one or more of the rows of the array to add one or more symbol positions to each expanded row. The plurality of symbol-bearing reels are again spun and stopped to land symbols on the reels in the symbol positions of the expanded array. Payouts are again awarded for any winning symbol combinations along the horizontal and vertical ways.

When an advancement symbol lands in the array, an index indicating one of a plurality of modifiers is incremented. At a conclusion of the second series of spins, the values of the held value-bearing symbols are modified according to the currently indexed modifier and a corresponding payout is awarded.

The methods include controlling a camera on a mobile device using an augmented reality gaming assistance component and enabling a user to employ the camera to capture an image of a game screen display. The captured image is sent via a network to a server that determines a game paytable, a current state of the game and a current wager amount from the captured image, then determines one or more possible strategies for the game based on that data. The game paytable, current state, current wager amount and one or more possible strategies are then transmitted to the mobile device and displayed. At least one of the possible strategies may be selected at the mobile device, wherein the odds of one or more possible game outcomes for the selected strategy are displayable on the display.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a gaming system is provided for tracking chips in a gaming environment. In some embodiments, an apparatus, system, etc. comprises a chip tray having one or more image sensors. The apparatus further comprises a tracking controller. The chip tray includes columns. The image sensor(s) are positioned between a least two of the columns and aligned substantially parallel to a vertical height of the columns. The tracking controller is configured, in some embodiments, to perform operations that cause the apparatus to capture, via the one or more image sensors, image data of a chip stack in at least one of the two of the columns. The tracking controller is further configured to segment the chip stack from the image data, and detect, via a machine learning model, a value of each chip in the chip stack in response analysis of chip-edge features of each gaming chip in the chip stack.
