  • Patent number: 9111189
Abstract: An apparatus to package an electronic device. The apparatus includes a composite plastic package that is durable to environmental conditions. In particular, a mold process to produce a plastic composite material package and support an electronic component inserted therein. At least one injection nozzle supplies a specified level of plastic composite material into the mold to produce a substantially hermetically sealed package. A multi-patch antenna provides increased receiver sensitivity. An inductive battery power option provides a user flexibility to charge a tracking device and communicate near-field signals and energy with a tracking monitoring station.

  • Publication number: 20140253377
Abstract: Power conservation methods can be used to update a position fix of a mobile location tracking device configured to be tracked by a location tracking server. The mobile location tracking device can have a memory to store a zone map. The zone map can include an expected zone and a restricted zone. Each zone can have a profile that helps to determine power conservation behaviors of the system.

  • Patent number: 8774827
Abstract: A tracking device is disclosed for communication of location coordinate information. In one embodiment, the tracking device includes a signal transceiver device, a location coordinate acquisition device, and a computational processor activated and deactivated in accordance with a subscriber service usage profile. The location coordinate acquisition device generates a position fix of the tracking device and a signal transceiver device reports the position fix to a location tracking server. A flash memory device stores a zone management map. In accordance with a fix reporting period based at least in part on a subscriber service usage application including or accessing the subscriber service usage profile, an internal clock activates or deactivates the signal transceiver device, the computational processor, and/or the location coordinate acquisition device.

  • Patent number: 8654974
Abstract: A system for securing information. The system includes a first tracking device associated with an object or an individual. In one embodiment, the first tracking device generates independently a synchronous secret key and a server generates independently the synchronous secret key. Over an insecure communication channel, the server communicates an asynchronous vector pair encrypted with the synchronous secret key with the tracking device. To securely communicate information, messages are encrypted and decrypted using the asynchronous vector pair between the tracking device and the server. To further secure message information, a set of random numbers may be further utilized with the asynchronous vector pair to further encrypt and decrypt the messages communicated between the tracking device and the server.

  • Patent number: 7728724
Abstract: A positioning and tracking system may comprise a monitoring station for receiving a location request and a user's identification code and transmitting a signal; a tracking device, which includes a signal receiver for receiving a signal from the monitoring station, including the user's identification code, a microprocessor/logic circuit for storing a first identification code, and generating a position signal; an erasable programmable read-only memory; a global positioning system logic circuit; a signal transmitter; and a plurality of transmitter/receiver stations for communicating between the tracking device and the monitoring station; wherein the tracking device compares the user's identification code to the stored identification code and upon determining that the user's identification code matches the stored identification code, the signal transmitter transmits the position signal to the monitoring station.

  • Patent number: 7598855
Abstract: A system for monitoring objects and individuals. In this system, a monitoring station is remotely accessible through a user interface. The interface is adapted to provide a visually cognizable rendering of an area and a tool useful for selecting at least a portion of said area, and to communicate a first request signal to provide location coordinates of a first tracking device. The first tracking device comprises a first transceiver adapted to receive the first request signal, and to transmit a first reply signal that comprises a first identification code. In addition, a second tracking device having a second transceiver is adapted to receive the first reply signal, compare the first identification code to a stored identification code, and communicate to the monitoring station a second reply signal that comprises location coordinates of the first tracking device in part responsive to verification of the first identification code.
