Abstract: A foaling alarm adapted to be positioned around the withers and belly of a mare just behind the forearms and having, in the region of the withers, an RF transmitter, and a position sensing switch which energizes the transmitter when the mare lies down on her side in foaling position. The transmitter, when thus energized, actuates a remote receiver which, in turn, actuates an audio and/or visual alarm for summoning aid by the mare's attendant or owner.
