Abstract: A female coupling element is secured to a work implement, for locking engagement with a male coupling element pivotably mounted by a boss member at the end of a vehicle boom. The female coupling element includes a pair of curved surfaces positioned for receiving the end of the boom in riding engagement on the boss member. A hydraulic cylinder secured between the boom and the male coupling element relatively pivots the two coupling elements into mating engagement whereupon a separate locking pin carried by the male element is hydraulically actuated from within the vehicle cab for movement to a pin receiving bore carried by the female element, locking the two coupling elements together. The hydraulic cylinder is utilized after implement attachment to manipulate the work implement with respect to the vehicle boom.

Abstract: A truss boom attachment for mounting on a fork assembly operatively mounted on a material handling truck. The fork assembly includes a rigid upright frame which receives a pair of load carrying forks. The truss boom attachment comprises a generally longitudinally elongated rigid truss frame which has an upright rigid rear end and a front end. Detachable hooks are defined on the rear end of the truss frame for detachably securing the truss boom on the rigid fork assembly of the material handling truck. A cable assembly, including a load carrying drop block, is operatively carried on the material handling truck and the cable is guidably carried on the truss boom with the drop block passing downwardly from the front end of the truss boom so the material or load being handled by the truck can be readily moved from one location to another.

Abstract: A self-propelled, low profile material-handling vehicle mounted on a pair of front wheels and a pair of rear wheels. The vehicle supports an extendible boom rotatable around a horizontal pivot axis that is substantially located above the rear wheels. A cab for a driver is located on one side of the boom, and a load-carrying platform is located on the side of the boom opposite the cab. A well located in the vehicle body between the cab and the load-carrying platform is positioned lower than the pivot axis of the boom and is arranged to receive the boom when it is pivoted downward toward the front wheels so that a load can be maneuvered below grade level. The pivot axis is vertically located above the top of the wheels and below the top of a steering wheel located within the cab so that the driver's vision is substantially unobstructed when a load is carried by the boom close to the grade level.
