Abstract: A custom-fit in-ear-monitor (IEM) is provided that utilizes a plurality of drivers and a single piece driver module that significantly simplifies fabrication while insuring that the completed IEM achieves the desired acoustic performance. The driver module, which is fit within a custom-fit ear mold shell, includes a plurality of driver ports to which the drivers are coupled. The driver module also includes an acoustic output member that includes one or more sound bores that acoustically couple the acoustic output surface of the custom-fit ear mold shell to the plurality of driver ports via a plurality of sound ducts within the driver module.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a custom-fit in-ear-monitor (IEM) is provided that utilizes a pre-tuned, single piece driver module to simplify fabrication and reduce cost while insuring that the performance of the IEM consistently meets the acoustic goals set for the device. During fabrication the driver module, the drivers coupled to the module's driver ports, and the crossover circuit are installed in a custom-fit IEM shell such that the module's acoustic output is aligned with the output surface of the IEM shell. After installing the device components within the IEM shell, the shell is sealed.

Abstract: System and method involving user interfaces and remote control devices. These user interfaces may be particularly useful for providing an intuitive and user friendly interaction between a user and a device or application using a display, e.g., at a “10 foot” interaction level. The user interfaces may be specifically designed for interaction using a simple remote control device having a limited number of inputs. For example, the simple remote control may include directional inputs (e.g., up, down, left, right), a confirmation input (e.g., ok), and possibly a mute input. The user interface may be customized based on current user activity or other contexts (e.g., based on current or previous states), the user logging in (e.g., using a communication device), etc. Additionally, the user interface may allow the user to adjust cameras whose video are not currently displayed, rejoin previously left videoconferences, and/or any of a variety of desirable actions.
Abstract: A federated media server system. The federated media server system may include a plurality of media servers. A first media server may be coupled to a second media server over a network. The first media server may also be coupled to a third media server over the network. Additionally, the second and third media servers may be coupled to a plurality of respective clients. The first media server may be configured to record video, e.g., videoconferences, and stream recordings to clients and/or the second and third media servers. The second and third media servers may assist in performing video recording, transcoding, storage of recordings, multicasting, etc.
Abstract: Controlling a bridge in a videoconferencing system through a remote endpoint. The endpoint may receive a generic menu-navigation user input command, such as a navigation command from a simple remote control device. The endpoint may then convert the user input into a bridge control command comprising at least one of a dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signal or a far-end camera control (FECC) signal. The use of DTMF and FECC signals is transparent to the user.
Abstract: Providing high availability multi-way conferencing. Separate signaling and media components may be provided within an MCU or among a cluster of MCUs. A signaling server may control signaling aspects of a conference while a media server may provide media support for the conference. In the event of media server failure, the signaling server may assign a new media server to provide media support for the conference. A backup signaling server may also monitor the signaling server and may provide signaling support for the conference in the event of signaling server failure.
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a housing having a front portion and a slot formed in the housing, the slot having a plurality of different widths along a length of the slot. The slot includes a first width configured to support a first type of electronic mobile device in a first upright configuration at a first angle relative to the front portion of the housing, and a second width configured to support a second type of electronic mobile device in a second upright configuration at a second angle relative to the front portion of the housing. The first width has a first depth in the slot, the second width has a second depth in the slot, where the first angle is based on the first width and first depth, and the second angle is based on the second width and the second depth.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to control devices configured for use with computing devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods and devices for shortening wireless reconnection time by determining the presence of an object or body near a device. When the control device detects an object or body in proximity to the device, the control device may automatically establish a wireless connection with a host devices, such that when the control device receives any user interactions, the wireless connection has already been established, preventing loss of data.

Abstract: A motion detection method of a video camera includes calculating differences for a sum of accumulated differences (?SAD) for corresponding macro blocks in successive frames of video. The method may include identifying motion-generative macroblocks and regions of connected macroblocks. Candidate-motion regions may be defined in a frame and a bounding box may be formed around each of the candidate-motion regions. If corresponding bounding boxes in a plurality of successive frames have substantially the same location, size, and shape in the plurality of successive frames, and if the plurality of successive frames are in a temporal window of successive frames, then the corresponding bounding boxes may indicate motion.

Abstract: A computer system includes a receiver configured to pair with a set of peripheral devices and have active connections with a first subset of the peripheral devices and inactive connections with a second subset of the peripheral devices. The first and the second subsets of peripheral devices are subsets of the set of peripheral devices. If a select one of the peripheral devices in the inactive set of peripheral devices is operated, the receiver is configured to activate a connection with the select one of the peripheral devices in a latency period that is below human perception levels of the latency period.
