Abstract: The present invention provides an input device such as a mouse which has a unique construction with integrated key plates and integrated side grips. In one embodiment, the input device comprises a housing, which includes a bottom case and an upper member disposed above the bottom case. The upper member includes a palm rest configured to support a user's palm and at least one key plate extending continuously from the palm rest to form a hinge between the at least one key plate and the palm rest without a gap. The key plate is movable in bending relative to the palm rest at the hinge to activate a key switch. The left side grip and the right side grip are formed on a single piece top case connected between the upper member and the bottom case. The left side grip and right side grip typically have concave surfaces.

Abstract: A modular personal audio set and related system of use is disclosed. The modular personal audio set has a connector for detachably securing different mating-fittings for engaging jacks of different audio products is disclosed. Preferably, the personal audio set is a headset and the connector is positioned along a wire that extends from the mating fitting to the audio driver of the personal audio set. More preferably, the connector also has a microphone and microphone activation button thereon.
Abstract: A wireless audio headphone communication system has an audio input for receiving an audio signal from an audio source. A wireless transceiver receives and transmits radio frequency communications with a wireless audio headphone, the communications including an audio control signal that conforms to a wireless audio control protocol of a wireless communication protocol. A converter converts the audio control signal between the wireless audio control protocol transceived by the wireless transceiver and a local control protocol for controlling the audio source.
Abstract: A computer system which uses customer-based business rules that are customized for each customer. These business rules, along with order information, are provided to a linear programming engine. The linear programming engine determines the priority of customer orders based on the business rules and allocates scarce inventory accordingly. In one embodiment, linear programming assigns weights to different factors. Examples of such factors are (1) a promotion activity, (2) a customer priority, (3) the age and delinquency of an order or line item, and (4) the price of the product.

Abstract: A method and system for providing communication with devices using instant messaging, by enabling a device to be an autonomous IM user. In one embodiment, a unique user login is obtained from an IM service for the device, and this unique user login is stored (e.g., on the device itself, or on another entity such as a computer or a remote server). Once the device is connected to the network, the device can then log onto the IM service, and function as an IM user. Other IM users can then communicate with the device. In one embodiment of the present invention, the device can both send and receive messages. In one embodiment, received messages can be interpreted as commands to the device, based on pre-defined instructions.

Abstract: An online remote control configuration system for efficiently programming a remote control to recognize a plurality of external electronic devices. The online remote control configuration system includes a remote control having a housing, a keypad, and an electronic system for receiving configuration data from a control station via a global computer network (e.g. Internet). The user preferably “samples” one or more signals from a remote control into the electronic system and then uploads the samples to the control station. The control station analyzes the uploaded samples and transmits the appropriate configuration data to properly configure the electronic system. The user may also access a web site of the control station and manually select each of the external electronic devices that the remote control is to operate after which the control station sends the appropriate configuration data to the electronic system.
Abstract: A wireless human interface device configured to establish a link with a host, wherein the device includes a transceiver for transmitting data to and receiving data from a host transceiver unit, wherein the host transceiver unit is connected with the host; a processor connected with the transceiver and configured to process data from the host and the human interface device, and a power circuit connected with the processor and configured to regulate the power usage of the human interface device, wherein the power circuit includes a battery, a computer readable media having instructions thereon, wherein the instructions include routines for monitoring the operational state of the human interface device, and routines for controlling the operation of the human interface device using the operational state of the human interface device to maximize the useful life of the batteries.

Abstract: A remote control multimedia content listing system for providing an updated content listing of various media within a remote control. The remote control multimedia content listing system includes a remote control having a housing, a display, a keypad, and an electronic system for receiving configuration data from a control station via a global computer network (e.g. Internet). The user may enter media information into the electronic system thereafter uploading the media information to the control station. The control station analyzes the uploaded media information and transmits the appropriate configuration data to properly configure the electronic system to provide a usable “guide” for the media. The user may also access a web site of the control station and manually enter the media information after which the control station sends the appropriate configuration data to the electronic system.
