  • Patent number: 6699665
Abstract: A multiple level micro-array system for integrating micro-arrays of biomolecules, including biological, chemical and biochemical elements. The multiple level micro-arrays are formed using soft lithography techniques and elastomeric membranes to shield or pattern various portions of a suitable substrate with biomolecules. Additional levels are formed using membranes with various through holes which either isolate, stratify or shield the patterned biomolecules from subsequent patterning or addition of an assay solution.

  • Publication number: 20040034846
Abstract: A system, method and medium associates source code with a plurality of elements of a model representing the source code. Portions of computer code are associated with one or more of the model elements. The source code is modified to correspond to one or more modified model elements, and at least a portion of the source code that has been modified can optionally be displayed.

  • Publication number: 20030101255
Abstract: The invention provides a computer implemented method, system, and computer program device for web-enabling a device. An application for remote monitoring and controlling capabilities may be automatically generated, to enable easy development of embedded applications. The application may be loaded onto a device that is to be web-enabled. The application on the device may offer interaction capabilities from standard browsers. A software modeling tool, e.g., a UML-based tool, supplies mechanisms for annotating software elements, and generating and/or customizing code and/or the user interface and/or device elements to be exposed to the web, thereby providing a fast-prototyping and collaborative environment for research and development teams. The web-enabled device may store a copy of the user interface locally. Preferably, the web-enabled device provides real-time updates of device information while connected to the remote user.

  • Publication number: 20030075939
Abstract: The present invention provides a process and apparatus for mounting semiconductor components to substrates. More particularly, the apparatus includes a placing mechanism positioned on a support frame for placing the semiconductor components to the substrates. A reflow oven/furnace is integrated into the apparatus, thereby eliminating the need to transport the semiconductor components and substrates to an external furnace. Another feature of the present invention involves providing an improved vacuum substrate chuck array adapted for efficient application of suction to substrates carried thereby. Yet another feature of the invention involves a fluxless reflow process for inhibiting oxidation of eutectic solders provided on substrates.

  • Patent number: 5249568
Abstract: An introducer device for receiving a generally bullet-shaped obturator and for facilitating the insertion of an examination instrument into an orifice or body cavity of a patient has first and second hingeably connected half-sections. Each half-section includes a handle, a flange connected to the handle and a nose portion extending continuously from the flange. A connector secures the half-sections together to form a cylindrical hollow nose portion sized to receive and hold the obturator. The generally cylindrical hollow nose portion is large enough in diameter to receive the examination instrument when the obturator is removed.
