  • Patent number: 7871228
Abstract: The device (1) for stowing a vehicle when it is transported on a bearing plane (9) by one of its wheels or from an anchorage on the chassis is characterized in that it is constituted by the following means: a link (2) that has a coupling end (5) provided to engage with a tensioning and retaining mechanism (3), a tensioning end (6), and a sliding sheath (7) for support on a tyre, a mechanism for tensioning and retaining the link (2) that has a roll axis (10) of sufficient length to offer numerous transverse coiling positions of the strap, and a coupling and return assembly (4) passed through by the link (2). Said device therefore enables vehicles to be stowed in two ways: a) by coupling to the vehicle chassis and b) by stowing the vehicle by link (2) on its tyres. This invention relates to the transportation of vehicles on Lorries or railway trucks.

  • Patent number: 7600621
Abstract: The device for capturing electrical energy having a capturing plough-type element (10), an arm for holding the capturing plough-type element on the frame of the vehicle, a mechanism for lifting up the plough-type element and the way for electrical connection to the supply circuit of a vehicle. The plough-type element is electrically insulated in relation to the ground and the trackway. One part of the plough-type element separates two profiled part holders (23, 24) which are arranged beside each other in another opposite manner and are supported a support. The conducting elements of the lower end of the plough-type element are maintained in electrical contact, sliding along polar parts born by each part holder. Along the entire length of each part holder (23, 24), each part holder is mounted in an elastically recoiling manner such that it moves towards its adjacent opposite number with the aid of an elastic mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20090206169
Abstract: A self-cleaning assembly employing a gap filler for a rail on the ground which guides or in which there runs rollers or wheels with lugs housed in a groove so as to lie flush with or protrude only slightly from the ground and which has a gap on the side of the rail corresponding to the passage of the lug. A filling substance is placed in the gap outside of the dynamic footprint of the lug and at least partially lines the gap, at least partially filling it. The filling material has properties of compressibility and is positioned in such a way that under all normal conditions of use or normal environmental conditions, the gap remains filled outside of the dynamic footprint of the lug.

  • Patent number: 7562893
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved hitch coupling assembly which dampens the hunting movements of a road trailer being towed by a motor vehicle and which is intended for a vehicle combination comprising a motor vehicle and a trailer. More specifically, the inventive hitch coupling assembly (4) comprises: (i) a first pivot coupling (12) for the hunting movements, consisting of a pivoting device which dampens the hunting movements (40) of the trailer and which is housed in a closed space such that it is sheltered from the ingress of pollutant materials; and (ii) a second coupling (21) for the rolling and pitching movements, which is used for the play-free transmission of the hunting movements to the first coupling, the axis of the hunting movements being thus decoupled from the rolling and pitching movements.

  • Patent number: 6688631
Abstract: The device for damping yawing motions between a highway motor vehicle and its trailer is composed of a curvilinear damping track (4) acted upon by a friction device (17) which may be a pneumatic device attached to the extremity of the shaft (2); the track (4) may be articulated to a fixed portion of the rear of the truck or flexible enough to absorb lurching and pitching motions. The friction device (13) consists of friction slides (21, 22) pressed against the track(4) by an actuator (27) that may be pneumatic. The intensity of the force it generates varies depending upon the cargo in the trailer and/or vehicle speed in order to automatically adapt the yaw-damping effect. This adaptation is achieved by making the actuator (27) subject to suspension pressure and/or vehicle speed. This invention is of interest to manufacturers of trailers and couplings.

  • Patent number: 6490772
Abstract: A method for forming a one-piece skip body with a concave cross section from a large metal sheet (1) by imparting an approximate cross section to the sheet using shaping mechanisms (2) is disclosed. According to the method, the approximate cross section is maintained while a sealing plate (10) is secured to one end (9) and a stiffening reinforcement member (13) shaped according to the final cross section is attached to the other end (12). The longitudinal edges are stiffened then the most curved areas are mechanically treated and the shaping mechanisms (2) are released. The method is relevant to skip manufacturers and more generally to builders of utility vehicles.
