    Abstract: A filter structure includes a central perforated cylinder surrounded by flexible separable filter units of self-standing porous material through which water is drawn by a pump connected to a cylinder for filtering algae and the like from the water. The central cylinder is apertured at the junction of separate filter units so that water may be drawn through the structure even though the filter units become clogged with filtered material.
