Patent number: 9278441Abstract: A hydraulic installation tool comprises a fixed jaw, a movable, and a plurality of independent hydraulic cylinders each comprising a piston. Movement of the pistons in a first direction moves the movable jaw toward the fixed jaw. A plurality of guide rods comprises a first end secured to the fixed jaw. A plurality of retaining members are each removably coupled to an associated one of the plurality of guide rods about the second end. The movable jaw is disposed between the fixed jaw and the plurality of hydraulic cylinders for movement along the guide rods. Each hydraulic cylinder is independently removable from the associated guide rod upon removal of the associated retaining member from said guide rod. In one example, the fixed and movable jaws are configured to engage and axially force a swage ring onto a fitting body to connect and seal the fitting body to a fluid conduit.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2012Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignee: LOKRING TECHNOLOGY, LLCInventor: Mark John Sindelar

Patent number: 8870237Abstract: A fitting for coupling with a pipe in a sour environment includes a coupling body, a ring positioned to fit over an end of the coupling body, a main seal formed on an inner surface of the coupling body, a transition section positioned adjacent the main seal, an inboard seal formed on an inner surface of the coupling body, and an outboard seal formed on an inner surface of the coupling body. The transition section is formed as an indentation on the inner surface of the coupling body and has a first portion with a first diameter and a second portion with a second diameter, with the first diameter being greater than the second diameter. When the ring is fitted over the at least one end of the coupling body via force, the ring and coupling body apply a coupling force to the main seal, the outboard seal and the inboard seal to connect the pipe to the coupling body in a non-leaking manner. The fitting is made of a low alloy carbon steel material. The main seal includes a first seal, a second seal, and a third seal.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2011Date of Patent: October 28, 2014Assignee: Lokring Technology, LLCInventor: Mark John Sindelar

Patent number: 7984538Abstract: An installation tool assembly for advancing a fitting's swage ring onto a fitting's connector body while a conduit is received in the connector body to mechanically and sealingly connect the fitting to the conduit includes a body defining at least two spaced apart piston chambers, a fixed jaw connected to the body and adapted to engage one of the connector body or the swage ring, and a movable jaw connected to the body and movable relative to the fixed jaw. The movable jaw is adapted to engage the other of the connector body or the swage ring. Pistons are disposed in the at least two spaced piston chambers. The pistons and the movable jaw are configured such that movement of the pistons in a first direction moves the movable jaw toward the fixed jaw thereby moving the swage ring axially onto the connector body to mechanically and sealingly connect the connector body to the conduit received therein when the fixed and movable jaws are engaged to the connector body and swage ring.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2005Date of Patent: July 26, 2011Assignee: Lokring Technology LLCInventor: Albert A. Patent number: 7503595Abstract: A fitting for a fluid conduit includes a coupling body having an inside surface for engaging an outside surface of a fluid conduit and a shoulder portion for limiting axial insertion of the fluid conduit into the coupling body. At least one seal is formed on the inside surface of the coupling body. The at least one seal includes a proximal seal adjacent the shoulder portion. A ring is annularly disposed on the coupling body urging the at least one seal into the fluid conduit to seal and mechanically connect the coupling body to the fluid conduit.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2005Date of Patent: March 17, 2009Assignee: Lokring Technology, LLCInventor: Albert A. Patent number: 7337514Abstract: A handheld hydraulic assembly tool for advancing a fitting's swage ring onto a fitting's connecting body while a conduit is received in the connector body to mechanically and sealingly connect the fitting to the conduit includes a clamping assembly defining a piston chamber fluidly connected to a pump chamber. The clamping assembly has a fixed jaw adapted to engage one of the connector body and the swage ring and a moveable jaw adapted to engage the other of the connector body and the swage ring. A piston is disposed in the piston chamber. The piston and the moveable jaw are configured such that movement of the piston in a first direction moves the moveable jaw toward the fixed jaw thereby moving the swage ring axially onto the connector body to mechanically and sealingly connect the connector body to the conduit received therein when the jaws are engaged to the connector body and the swage ring. A pump body defines the pump chamber and is connected to the clamping assembly.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2005Date of Patent: March 4, 2008Assignee: Lokring Technology, LLCInventor: Albert A.
