Abstract: An apparatus for mounting the hose reel frame of an irrigation machine on a support frame in a manner such that the hose reel frame may be rotated to a desired position while water under pressure is passing through such hose. The reel frame is rotatably supported about a substantially vertical axis so that water under pressure flows from a source through a rotary axial connection to the hose carried by the reel.
Abstract: A peanut combine has a pickup that is driven selectively and automatically above a predetermined rate from a ground wheel or a power takeoff, and has means for manually disengaging the ground wheel drive for transport purposes.
Abstract: An apparatus for irrigating the earth includes a portable vehicle having a hose reel connected to a supply of water under pressure. An elongated hose is carried by the reel and the end of the hose is connected to a travelling carriage having a water gun and such carriage initially is moved away from the vehicle by an external force after which water passing through the apparatus drives a turbine which rotates the reel and coils the hose thereon while pulling the carriage toward the vehicle at a selected speed so that a large area of the earth is watered automatically.
Abstract: Tobacco harvesting apparatus having a plurality of seats for workmen to hand prime tobacco plants and having a plurality of conveyors for transporting the tobacco leaves and discharging such leaves into a large bulk container.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for harvesting and treating tobacco in which the tobacco plants are automatically defoliated as a harvester moves through a field. The tobacco leaves are discharged in a random haphazard manner into a large bulk container where the leaves are secured in position and then the containers are placed within a treating barn and the leaves are cured.
Abstract: An apparatus for receiving a large quantity of green tobacco leaves in bulk form with an intermediate screen separating portions of the leaves along the entire length of the container and with a plurality of independent support rods for supporting the tobacco leaves in generally vertical position while the leaves are being cured. The tobacco container is open at one side only during filling and is open at the top and bottom only during the curing process.
