Abstract: The front binding (1) comprises two jaws (5a, 5b) holding a boot vertically and laterally by means of their actions on the sole of the boot and articulated on a carriage (4) that is movable in translation between two extreme positions in which the action of the carriage (4) on release means gives rise to the release of the boot by rocking of one or other of the jaws (5a, 5b). The carriage (4) is returned to an intermediate position by an elastic means. Abstract: Device for adjusting the relative position between a first part, for example a ski binding heel-piece, equipped with a toothed strip (8) and a second part, for example a slide (2), equipped with two opposed sets of teeth (16, 17) collaborating with the sets of teeth (10, 11) of the strip. The sets of teeth of one of the parts are offset by a half-tooth and the teeth of the sets of teeth are truncated. The sets of teeth of the two parts come into mesh alternately on one side and the other, making it possible to have a pitch for adjustment equal to a half-tooth rather than a full tooth. The fineness of the adjustment is thus improved.

Abstract: The combination of a binding and boot is provided. The binding has a pair of pistons (7, 8) extending under the boot. Each piston is stressed by a spring (14, 15). The arms of a sole clamp (2, 3) act on these pistons. The pistons are connected together by a linking device (20). The combination magnetically controls the linking device which is capable of occupying a first position, in which the pistons arc secured by the linking device, and a second position in which one of the pistons is able to move on its own, at least over a certain travel common to the two pistons. The combination thus provides asymmetrical release resistance.

Abstract: A support device on a ski for the front part of the sole of a ski boot is held by a releasable binding holding the front of the boot, including a support in which a support plate is slideably mounted transversely to the ski. A limiting arrangement limits the displacement of the support plate in the support and includes stops on both the support plate and the support. A transverse helical spring is engaged partially in the support plate and partially in the support and works in compression between the support and the support plate upon displacement of the support plate. A support device using a helical return spring is thereby produced in which the support plate travels substantially farther than in the prior art, while being perfectly guided and held in the support.

Abstract: A safety binding for a ski boot having a sole clamp divided into two sole clamps (3, 4) each mounted pivoting about a particular more or less vertical axis. The sole clamps (3, 4) form two levers of a first type with two diverging arms designed to retain the boot laterally and two substantially converging arms perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. Each sole clamp is provided with a descending arm (9, 10) which bears against two adjacent points on the end of a piston (13). The piston is axially mounted in the body (1) of the binding and extends beneath the boot. A spring is biased against the piston. The descending arms (9, 10) simultaneously control the elastic tilting of the sole clamp in a vertical plane.

The second part comprises, at the front, a tilting jaw (5) coming to bear on the vertical bearing surfaces (4) and against a front bearing surface (3) of the first part and, at the rear, a stirrup (20) mounted pivotably about a vertical axis by means of a second stirrup (18) and tilting about a horizontal axis. The arms of this stirrup are in the form of a hook (33) coming to bear on a pair of lateral pegs (6) of the shoe. The jaw and the stirrup bear on slides (12, 26), between which compression springs are mounted. This binding preserves the independence of the torsion and forward-fall release assembly, and it is virtually insensitive to the changes to the exposed parts of the shoe during travel without a binding.
