Patents Assigned to Loramendi, S.A.
  • Patent number: 7007738
Abstract: The molding machine comprises a station (1) with a chamber (2) that is closed between a front plate (5) that can move and swivel and a rear plate (8) associated to an extraction piston (9), forming a shell (3) in said chamber (2) by blowing sand through an upper hopper (4). The shell (3) obtained is pushed by the piston (9) until the rear of a row of shells (3?) placed on a conveyor (7) that places them opposite a casting station. The motion of the shell (3) pushed by the extraction piston (9) is independent of the motion of said piston after being incorporated in the row of shells, and is provided exclusively by the conveyor system (7), thereby providing a shorter working cycle while preventing deterioration of the shells as they are not compressed by the piston (9) when it pushes against the rear of the row of shells (3?).

  • Patent number: 6659163
Abstract: The method relies on the simultaneous filling of mold (1) from its bottom through main casting gutter (3) and rising of molten metal (2) in a secondary gutter (6) which branches off from the start of casting gutter (3), with said molten metal (2) rising in secondary gutter (6) in the same amount as in mold (1), so that when the latter is full the main casting gutter (3) is sealed and feeding from the secondary gutter (6) continues, causing it to overflow and fill the corresponding feed head (5) provided on top of mold (1), with secondary gutter (6) communicating at the top with said feed head (5) so that once said feed head is full secondary gutter (6) is sealed. In this manner, the most liquid metal will reach the top part of mold (1) and may be fed to it to compensate contraction of the metal as it cools. A further object of the invention is the device (7) which seals the main casting gutter (3) and the secondary gutter (6), with these two sealing devices (7) being identical and independent.

  • Patent number: 6530417
Abstract: The object of the device is to provide a novel cam device applicable to sand molding machines in which the cam (1) has its active surface (2) facing downwards to prevent sand or dirt from being deposited between said cam (1) and the its supporting follower (10), which the machine is provided with to cause the swivelling of the said cam. For this purpose the cam (1) is hinged at a point (3) to a frame (4) which may move longitudinally, while on another point (5) it is hinged to a connecting rod (6) which is in turn hinged on its opposite end at the point (8) to the front swinging plate (7) of the sand mote molding machine, with said front plate (7) hinged at the point (9) on its rearmost edge to the frame (4).

  • Patent number: 6508297
Abstract: Mounted on plate (9), associated to the machine's compacting and ejection piston is pattern plate (10), which incorporates stops (11) restored by springs (12), with an ejection plate (13) placed between said pattern plate (10) and plate (9), aided by guiding elements (14) and complemented by hold down plates (15) which correspond to the holes of the pattern plate. Inside compacting rammer (6) are mounted four ejectors (17) embodied as hydraulic cylinders which, by means of hold down plates (15) attached to ejection plate (13) compact the sand in the holes to then eject the mote. Therefore, the ejection plate has a compacting stroke (Y) prior to the ejection stroke (Z). The machine is thus particularly well suited for efficient moulding of motes having round or otherwise shaped deep holes, without requiring the use of cores.

  • Patent number: 6463993
Abstract: A tubular sand molding chamber having two conventional movable walls one mounted on a piston for compacting and expelling the cake and the other pivotably mounted on a displaceable hinge arm for opening the chamber, but having side walls that are also movable is disclosed. Each movable side wall includes a plate (11) mounted on a respective plate-holder (12) that is connected to guides (13) for sliding the side wall on a fixed support (14) through the action of a respective hydraulic cylinder (15), in such a manner that the effective width of the chamber be adapted to different cake sizes, in order to minimize the consumption of sand. However, the movable end wall that are mounted on a faceplate (20) affixed to a hydraulic cylinder and pivotably mounted on the hinge arm, respectively, for the compacting and expelling the sand cake, have replaceable plate assemblies.

  • Patent number: 6145576
Abstract: The machine has a pressure drum (1) capable of supplying a current of blowing air through the diffuser (2) towards the moulding box (3), and its characteristics are focused on a specific valve system in which a tubular valve body (7), to which the diffuser (2) is in turn solidly attached, is fixed to the mouth of the drum (1) with the assistance of a supporting frame (8), this assembly defining, with a large central core (15), a peripheral passage (16) for the outlet of air in which an inner valve seat (14) is established for a tubular membrane (11) that is fixed through its marginal areas to the marginal areas of the valve body (7), an enveloping chamber (12) being defined outside the same which, upon being pressurised, causes the membrane (11) to be choked against the seat (14) and consequently the valve to be closed. Opening of the valve (11-14) results, through the diffuser (2), in a jet of air which mainly concentrates on the perimetric area of the moulding box (3), improving sand compacting (5).
