Abstract: A simulation method for simulating a three-dimensional structure, comprises the steps of: discretizing the three-dimensional structure into two-dimensional (ā2-Dā) layers; constructing a two-dimensional basis for each of the 2-D layers; and constructing a one-dimensional finite difference basis between the 2-D layers.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method of circuit design and circuit simulation. A method for electromagnetic simulation of passive structures of a circuit design is disclosed. The method comprises recognizing one or more geometries of the passive structures having certain geometric properties and electromagnetic properties, converting the one or more geometries to one or more primitives based on the geometric properties and numerically equivalent electromagnetic properties of the passive structures, constructing a physical topology incorporating the converted primitives and unconverted geometries, and simulating the physical topology to generate electromagnetic modeling of the passive structures of the circuit design.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide a method of circuit design and circuit simulation. A method for electrical modeling of passive structures of a circuit design wherein the passive structures have DC properties is disclosed. The method comprises constructing a physical topology based on the passive structures of the circuit design, mapping the physical topology to a network of EM modeling elements, and determining parameters of the EM modeling elements to model the passive structures based on electromagnetic simulation data.
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatuses for an electromagnetic simulator. The method for circuit simulation comprises the steps of discretizing the circuit element into charge elements and current elements, generating internal data structures to include the charge elements and current elements wherein the internal data structures include Mixed-Potential Integral Equation Green's functions and Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) incident matrixes, and calculating relationship between the charge elements and current elements using multilayer Green's function to provide electromagnetic interactions in the internal data structures.
