Abstract: Adjustable frames for use with hanging folders are disclosed herein. An example frame disclosed herein includes an a first end portion including a first side and a second side, a second end portion including a third side and a fourth side, the second end portion and the first end portion disposed within a plane, a first track disposed between the first side and the third side, and a second track disposed between the second side and the fourth side, the first track and the second track to enable the frame to move between a contracted position and an expanded position within the plane, the contracted position corresponding to a first distance between the first end portion and the second end portion, the expanded position corresponding to a second distance between the first end portion and the second end portion, the second distance greater than the first distance.

Abstract: Adjustable frames for use with hanging folders and related methods are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes an adjustable frame for hanging folders. The frame is to couple to a first rail and a second rail spaced relative to each other to cooperatively receive a first folder. The frame is movable between an expanded position and a contracted position to enable the first and second rails to receive a second folder sized differently relative to the first folder. The example apparatus also includes a receptacle disposed on the frame to receive a first clip for coupling the first rail to the frame.

Abstract: Apparatus for use with a trimmer to produce a plurality of books having different trim sizes are described. In a described example, a trimmer for use with a bindery system includes a cutting surface and a first movable backstop adjacent the cutting surface to be engaged by a first book. Additionally, the trimmer includes a second movable backstop adjacent the cutting surface and spaced from the first movable backstop. The second movable backstop is to be engaged by a second book. Further, the trimmer includes a cutter movable relative to the cutting surface to cut a face of the first book to form a book having a first size and to cut a face of the second book to form a book having a second size different than the first size.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are adjustable tab mechanisms for a hanging folder. An example tab mechanism includes an indexing portion movable between an expanded position and a retracted position. The example tab mechanism also includes a support portion positioned in a pocket formed by a cover panel of the folder. The support portion has a first fold extending over a hanging member.

Abstract: De-collatable bindings and methods of producing the same are disclosed. A disclosed includes a cover defining a spine and signatures disposed within the cover. The disclosed also includes a low tack adhesive disposed between the spine of the cover and the signatures to facilitate removal of the signatures from the cover.

Abstract: Adjustable rods for use in a filing system are disclosed. An example rod includes an elongated body having a first end and a second end, a first hook extending from the first end, and a second hook extending from the second end. In addition, the example rod includes a first resilient member having a first length. The first hook is coupled to the elongated body via the first resilient member, and the first length of the first resilient member is automatically adjustable during movement of the rod.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for building a custom publication is provided. A user may access a library of electronic source publications having defined units of content within the source publications, the library storing source publication metadata for the defined units of content. The user may select units of content from source publications for inclusion in an unpublished custom publication. The unpublished custom publication may be published in an electronic or printed format, wherein publishing the unpublished custom publication comprises applying consistent styling to common structural elements in the set of custom publication units of content to create a published custom publication with consistent styling.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for increasing co-mailing discounts are disclosed. An example method includes determining a first number of first books associated with a first pool, the first books to be addressed for delivery within a geographic region associated with a postal discount. The example method further includes identifying a filler from a second pool to fill open pockets associated with the first pool. The filler corresponds to a first type of book associated with the second pool. The example method also includes identifying a second number of second books associated with the filler to be bundled with the first books when the first number of the first books is less than a threshold number of books for the postal discount. The first number of the first books combined with the second number of the second books is at least as great as the threshold number of books.

Abstract: A hanging file folder for mounting to a pair of spaced apart rails is disclosed. The file folder has a first and second rod with a pair of hook portions on opposing ends thereof for engaging the pair of spaced apart rails. The file folder body has first and second walls forming a pocket for holding materials therein, and is assembled such that the pocket is suspended between the first and second rods. At least one of the first and second rods includes a resilient structure for permitting at least one of the hook portions to move longitudinally and adjust an effective length of its rod for accommodating variances in the angle at which folders are mounted on the rails. The resilient structure may include a tension spring, for example. The hook portions may be movably mounted to the rod and may include the resilient mechanism.
