    Abstract: A low profile security mounting apparatus for mounting a flat panel screen to a support surface. The apparatus generally comprises a mounting plate, a back cover, and a platform. The mounting plate comprises an array of apertures for mounting a flat panel screen, a base for attachment to the platform, and a receptacle for engagement with the back cover. The back cover further comprises a panel that conceals the appliance mounting hardware, and a lower securing element that attaches to the platform. The platform in the present invention comprises a lower housing that is used as a locking mechanism for rotationally securing the apparatus. The platform also comprises an upper housing that uses a plurality of fasteners to secure the mounting plate and back cover.

    Abstract: In another embodiment, the above-mentioned design considerations are achieved by a mounting device having a generally vertical mounting post, a base plate, a pair of base brackets, and securing fixtures. The post is securable at one end to a support surface, such as a table or counter top, or even a floor or ceiling. The base plate is, in turn secured to the mounting post and has upper and lower flanges which are engaged by first and second retainers on each of the base brackets. The base brackets include fixtures that secure the appliance to the mounting assembly. Also, the base plate, brackets and appliance are rotatable about the axis of the mounting post.

Rotational cam movement drives movement of the latch between retracted and actuated positions. The cam is connected to a latch driving mechanism, which may include springs and/or cables of unequal strength and/or unequal length. A method for using the lift mechanism is also disclosed.

    Abstract: An appliance mounting device for mounting appliances such as flat panel TVs at desirable mounting angles which, in a preferred embodiment, includes a base plate having a back panel and upper and lower flanges, one or more base brackets and associated swing brackets, a spring assembly and a spring force adjustment assembly. The base and swing brackets may be pivotally connected at one end. The spring system may be designed and configured to substantially counterbalance the weight of the appliance. The spring force adjustment assembly may include a carriage associated with the base bracket and an anchor rod to which the spring assembly is connected. Simple threaded fasteners may be employed to lock the brackets to the base plate and to adjust the spring force applied to the swing bracket.
