Patents Assigned to Ludwig Schwerdtel GmbH
  • Patent number: 5797516
Abstract: A filling device for the proportioned delivery of very viscous materials comprises a filling pipe with a material outlet end in the vicinity of a front. At the outlet end, provision is made for a cutting head, which is rotatable relative to the filling pipe about a common central longitudinal axis. A cutting knife, which preferably consists of a spring steel wire, is disposed detachably and replaceably on the cutting head.

  • Patent number: 5671873
Abstract: A proportioning apparatus for viscous materials comprises a proportioning cylinder which has an inlet and an outlet. The proportioning cylinder houses a delivery piston actuable by way of an actuating rod. The latter is drivable by an electric motor, which is connected with the actuating rod by way of a crank drive.

  • Patent number: 4874022
Abstract: A filling station for a cartridge filling and sealing machine for filling viscous or pasty materials into cylindrical cartridges having a filler valve, a positioning and centering device for positioning and centering the cartridges in a position in alignment with the filler valve, and a displacement drive for adjusting the positioning of the positioning and centering device the filler valve in relation to each other. In order to assure an exactly centered position of the cartridge prior to inserting the filler valve into the cartridge as well as dependable support of the cartridge in a non-deforming way prior to and during filling, the positioning and centering device has a unit and at least one vacuum suction holder disposed in the unit. The unit has a contact surface adapted to the outer shape of the cartridge. The vacuum suction holder is formed by a suction hose the open end of which is disposed in the unit.

  • Patent number: 4693397
Abstract: A dosing device for dosing viscous materials has a dosing cylinder for a main material and at least one dosing cylinder for an additive and a common drive for the dosing pistons of said dosing cylinders. In order to permit the simple dosing of the main material and the at least one additive in a time-constant volume ratio, and in order to permit changes to the volume ratio to be made in a simple manner, while permitting the dosing of highly viscous main materials and additives, the dosing cylinders are arranged parallel to one another and their dosing pistons are arranged to be driven with an identical stroke. The dosing piston of the at least one additive dosing cylinder is constructed as a plunger with a smaller cross-section than the cross-section of the associated dosing cylinder. In addition, the plunger is sealingly guided in an interchangeable guide bush of the dosing cylinder. Moveover, the at least one additive dosing cylinder is interchangeably connected as a subassembly to a support frame.

  • Patent number: 4402428
Abstract: A dosing device for viscous materials, especially for paints, has a dosing cylinder, in which is disposed a dosing piston coupled with a hydraulically chargeable piston cylinder drive. A multi-way valve is placed ahead of the dosing cylinder to which is connected, on the one hand, a line for the supply of the material and, on the other hand, a pressure line for extrusion of the metered material by a drive, via a dispensing valve. The lines can be connected to the dosing cylinder selectively. The apparatus is embodied as a mobile unit. An open storage container is provided, from which originates the line for the supply of the material to the dosing cylinder which is embodied as a suction line. The drive is operatively arranged to effect the suction operation of the dosing piston.

  • Patent number: 4221102
Abstract: In an apparatus for sealing cans 7, 7' each having a lid 8, 8' under vacuum, a lifting device is provided having a plate 13, 33 movable from below against a stationary, evacuatable bell 14, 36 and serving to receive a can 7, 7' already provided with a lid 8, 8'. Devices for lifting the lid 8, 8' from the can 7, 7' are furthermore provided. In order to be able in addition to seal cans of different sizes in this apparatus, without having to change the course of operation of the apparatus, an adjustment piston 20 is provided as the device for lifting the lid 8, 8' from the can 7, 7', the adjustment piston being capable of being subjected to pressure medium and being guided in an adjustment cylinder 18. Reduction elements 52, 53 are furthermore releasably disposable on the adjustment piston 20 on the one hand, and on the inner wall of the bell 14 on the other.

  • Patent number: 4154044
Abstract: An apparatus for sealing cans with lids under vacuum is provided with a vacuum chamber. The chamber is formed by two parts vertically movable by a lifting device relative to one another so that the chamber is closed when these parts have been moved together and open when these parts have been moved apart. A vacuum bell is mounted on the upper one of the two parts. The lower part has a recess in a surface thereof for receiving a can. A pressure plate movable to a limited extent relative to the upper part and forming part of a sealing device is provided to press a lid onto a can. Only the lower part is movable, the upper part is made fixed. The vacuum bell is movable relative to the fixed, upper part when the vacuum chamber is closed. A lifting device which effects movement of the lower part can be stopped in an intermediate position, in which the vacuum chamber is already closed, but the pressure plate is still in a lower position a short distance from the can.
