Patents Assigned to Lumalampan AB
  • Patent number: 4761585
Abstract: A fitting for the electrical connection and support of compact electric-discharge lamps of different powers and construction. An electrical series impedance device for the normal operation of the lamps is accommodated in the fitting. These devices also include a resistor (47, 48) which is responsive to the glow current of the lamps and which is arranged to maintain the glow current in the various lamps to which it may be fitted at substantially one and the same level. This is achieved by the fact that the resistor is temperature-responsive and is placed in good thermal contact with a distinct heat source, for example, the series choke (38).

  • Patent number: 4268306
Abstract: The invention provides apparatus and a process for removing mercury from solid waste material. The solid waste material is placed in a vacuum chamber. The chamber is heated above the vaporization temperature of mercury. A vacuum condition is formed and then, while the temperature is maintained above the vaporization temperature of mercury, an inert gas is placed in the vacuum chamber. During this heating period, the pressure in the vacuum chamber is periodically varied from a maximum to a minimum. The apparatus utilized is a vacuum chamber, a vacuum pump, and a pipe that contains a mercury condenser. The pipe also functions through a side inlet as a means for introducing the inert gas into the vacuum chamber, while the vacuum pump is closed off. A control unit for controlling the alternate periods of mercury vapor withdrawal and inert gas introduction into the vacuum chamber is provided.

  • Patent number: 4139659
Abstract: A composite metal wire saw having a thin wire core and integral therewith hard cutting crystals with cutting edges projecting irregularly from the wire core surface. The cutting crystals form a layer between 1.5 and 10 .mu.m. Preferably, the composite saw has an intermediate fine-grained layer between 1 and 5 .mu.m and being thinner than the surface layer. The composite saw is prepared by heating the core wire and depositing the cutting crystals from the vapor phase.
