The luminaire has generally separate inflow and outflow valves for pressure equalization in order to minimize the amount of dust and other foreign matter which could enter into the sealed optical compartment thereby reducing the optical characteristics of the fixture. A one way outflow valve and seal is provided in combination with controlled inflow seals to reduce or limit the dirt and other foreign substances in the sealed optical compartment.
