  • Patent number: 5551910
Abstract: An arrangement for fluid jet cutting, especially for food products, comprises a nozzle which is movable on a frame. The arrangement includes an angled pipe, one end of which is fixedly connected to and in fluid communication with one end of a hollow shaft of a reversible rotary motor. The other end of the hollow shaft is connected by means of a rotary coupling to a conduit for cutting fluid. The other end of the pipe is connected to the nozzle. A plant for fluid jet cutting, especially for food products comprises a belt conveyor for carrying the products, a device for analyzing quality and/or quantity characteristics of the products to be cut, and a device for controlling the operation of the fluid jet arrangement for cutting the products on the conveyor in response to commands from the analyzing device.

  • Patent number: 5241365
Abstract: A method of area localization of a piece of meat, in particular fish, which is initially subjected to illumination. To perform automated localization of the exact position of various occurrences as well as meat texture, the piece of meat is illuminated in a predetermined patterm to provide contour information, which is recorded in a direction different from the illumination direction, said contour information being then used for providing additional information on the nature and the exact position of occurrences within the contour of the piece of meat.

  • Patent number: 5070998
Abstract: A conveyor system suitable for holding food products, such as fish, comprising a feed conveyor, having a discharge end, a receiving conveyor having a receiving end, a double conveyor having a collecting end adjacent said discharge end and an output end adjacent the receiving end. The double conveyor has two cooperating conveyor belts arranged vertically one above the other so as to be capable of gripping food products on the feed conveyor and being able to transport the food products to the receiving conveyor, the collecting end of the double conveyor is laterally displaceable in response to information signals obtained from a preceding processing station.

  • Patent number: 4908703
Abstract: In a method of detecting meat texture the surface of the meat is illuminated in at least two directions which are substantially perpendicular to a base for the meat in a common illumination plane. A loose texture manifests itself in deep cracks (8, 9, 10) in e.g. the fillet of fish. When the surface of the fillet is illuminated in the directions (11 and 12), the depressions (8, 9, 10) bring about such a great contrast in the recording of an image of the surface that the image information can be processed electronically and be utilized for control of equipment, either for rejection of the fillet or for cutting away the damaged areas.
