Abstract: A modular lighting fixture that is capable of receiving interchangeable functional modules includes a body having a main portion and a second portion. The main portion has a hollow interior defining an interior space extending in a longitudinal direction from a first open end of the main portion to a second end of the main portion. The second portion is provided at the first end and extends outwardly in a transverse direction, wherein the interior space is configured to receive and retain a functional module configured to provide non-light emitting function. A light emitting means is provided on the second portion of the body and configured to emit light.
