Abstract: Various embodiments of electric lighting devices, and especially electric candles, are described. The devices include a projection screen onto which light can be emitted. Advantageously, the projection screen can move with respect to the device's housing to thereby create a flickering flame effect. The device can include one or more magnets disposed outside of the housing that can interact with an electromagnetic field generated by the device to thereby move the projection screen.
Abstract: Various designs of electronic lighting devices are disclosed. Contemplated electronic lighting devices comprise a housing, a base, and a light source holder. The housing comprises an internal cavity that typically houses the base and the light source holder. The base is configured to mate with the housing, and the light source holder is affixed to the base. Preferably, the light source holder is configured to receive a light source in an inclined position with respect to the housing, such that light from the light source is emitted through an aperture of the housing and onto a flame element to simulate a real candle light.
Abstract: Various embodiments of electric candles are described having multiple flame elements, each of which generate a flickering flame effect, and collectively simulate a candle having multiple flames. The candles include a housing that encloses various lighting devices and circuitry that can control one or more aspects of the lighting devices. The enclosure can also house one or more drive mechanisms that help to effect movement of the flame elements (e.g., pivot or wobble) relative to the enclosure.

The devices include a flame piece or element that extends upwardly from a body of the device. A light source can be disposed with respect to the flame piece such that the flame piece is illuminated. A variety of drive mechanisms could be disposed within the body of the device that can cause movement of the flame piece with respect to the body or housing. The flame piece can be coupled to a body or housing of the device using various components to suspend at least a portion of the flame piece within the body or housing.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for controlling a plurality of electric lighting devices and in some embodiments preventing the theft of those devices. A microprocessor can be used to analyze information about the devices and send one or more commands to the devices. A user interface allows a user to send a command to at least one of the electric lighting devices, which may alter at least one of a brightness of light emitted, a color of light emitted or other effects of the devices.

The electric lights can include a base that can be rotatably coupled to a housing coupled to the base. A flame element can at least partially extend from the housing and be illuminated via a light source that is configured to emit light on to an outer surface of the flame element.
