Abstract: A feeding dish for an animal to assist in controlling the rate of consumption of a food item may have a series of protrusions in the form of undulating rings or walls. These rings limit animal access to the food based on the configurations and arrangement of the protrusions. The feeding dishes encourage an animal to exert a more calculated effort to retrieve and eat the food item thereby alleviating potential deadly conditions, such as gastric dilatation-volvulus or aspiration, from afflicting the animal.
