Abstract: A lamp assembly is disclosed which includes a base, a lamp arm mounting adapter on the base for pivotally mounting a lamp arm thereto, with the lamp arm itself having a first pair of hollow support tubes mounted on the adapter for pivotal movement on a vertical axis in a generally horizontal plane and having a arm support pivotally mounted on their opposite ends for pivotal movement on a vertical axis on a horizontal plane. A second pair of arms having inner and outer ends are pivotally mounted on their inner ends to the arm support for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis in a vertical plane. A counterbalance spring is connected between the arm support and the second pair of arms and a lamp head is pivotally connected on the outer end of the second pair of arms for pivotal movement at least about a horizontal axis in a vertical plane.

Abstract: A spring balanced lamp is disclosed which includes a base, a lamp arm support pivotally connected to the base, a first pair of hollow tubular arms pivotally connected at one end to the arm support and at their opposite ends to a second pair of hollow tubular arms. At least one counterbalance spring is connected to the arms to maintain the arms in a plurality of stable upright positions to which they may be moved. A lamp head assembly is pivotally connected to the second pair of arms and includes a support neck pivotally connected to the arms and a support ring pivotally mounted on the neck for rotation on an axis which is generally perpendicular to the axis of the pivotal connection of the neck to the arms. A perforated reflector and a translucent shade are mounted on the ring of the reflector.

Abstract: A magnifier lens assembly mounted within a lamp head including a barrel housing and a first, second and third lens, each of the lenses having a convex surface, an opposing substantially planar surface and a center axis of symmetry of the convex surface; the first, second and third lenses being mounted successively and coaxially within the barrel housing with the convex surface of the first lens facing the convex surface of the second lens, and the substantially planar surface of the second lens facing the convex surface of the third lens wherein the barrel housing includes means for securing the lenses in relatively fixed relation to each other and means for securing said magnifier lens assembly within said lamp head.
